For Shadowy, the best grind is Heists.
For Dangerous, the Velocipede Squad, the Assassins carousel in the forgotten quarter, and of course breeding monsters in the labyrinth of tigers.

Social actions (loitering for Shadowy and duels for Dangerous) are the fastest way to grind stats, if you can find someone to grind them with you.

Jolanda listed some good places to grind Dangerous solo, but I want to add that the War of Assassins in the Forgotten Quarter is also effective for grinding Shadowy while making a bit of money on the side (only if you cash in the Dramatic Tension for Collection of Curiosities). Heists is a good alternative if you also need the items and MW, but for pure Shadowy gain I found it's slightly worse since it uses luck checks rather than Shadowy checks.

Grinding Dangerious by breeding lots of Hounds of Heaven in the Labyrinth is a great way to earn both Favors for the Church and lots of Cellars of Wine. Not a bad way to go...
