its about the clockwork sun. i try to let it stay alive but this is very tedious work and it doesn't seem to do anything to keep it at 100. so, does the game end, if i let it just fade away?

Letting The Strength of the Sun fall to 0 doesn't end your game. It can result in a crisis situation when you visit the Clockwork Sun, which you'll have to deal with before moving on.

had this once before, at least some kind of crisis with an overambitous engeneer. So i can go on with the story without beeing to frightened about that clockwork sun.

You can safely ignore the sun. It means there will be more time wefts in Albion, and slightly different text in an option at the Society... otherwise no one seems to notice.
