The lacre settles deep, and 'tis the time to be asking quick questions.

Thank you for your answer and sorry for this late reply.
Want to clarify that one contact of mine, withdrew their patronage 1 hour before TtH and this made me lose enough MW to lose 1 point of Notability. Big Grin

Is a Soothe & Cooper Long-Box even used as a required quality in any ES?
Wiki has no free uses besides the possibility of selling one. And, oh well, I had to lose mine some months ago.

Any best guesses as to when the Urchins will stop selling Lacre? I'm going to try for a certain special tattoo, and I'm trying to decide when I need to spend Notability to force draw the Urchin card for that extra pail of Lacre.
2017 data if anyone is interested:

Penstock's Wicket opens - 06/01/17
Urchins stop selling pails - 23/01/17
One week Pail melt warning appears - 24/01/17 (or, possibly, 23/01/17)
Penstock's Wicket closes - 01/02/17

And in 2018 Urchins stopped selling Pail on the 22nd and soon after players started getting warning about them melting.

Does anyone know when Knife and Candle starts up again? I'm new but I would love to participate so I'd like to know when it starts again

There has been no Knife and Candle for years. There's no estimated date, and "never" is definitely a possibility.

Ah, yes. But in truth Knife and Candle has existed twice and died twice. No reason to assume there will *not* be another resurrection.

Can someone tell me the storylet to pick up on last month's ES? I know I played the branch to queue it for later, since I didn't have time to play it last month, but I don't see anything to follow up--just the storylet for the new one.
Go to Spite and see if there's anything about the Dark Bar.

No, the wicket opens for you only when you've played Day 12. There's no other way.
True, true! But do the cards go away if I wait that long?
Decided to double check and seems I missed Chris' post.

You don't need to check in every single day - as long as you've played "Day 1: A Peevish Visit from Mr Sacks?" before the 14th of January you'll have the 31st to play through the sequence.

I quite like receiving Calling Cards.
I am open to most social actions (including trading boxed cats), and am happy to help with menaces or actions involving second chances.

The Wikia page says until the beginning of January, I wouldn't take any risk and assume that means that from January the First onwards no more SNOWBOUND! Will occur and thus Urchins won't sell it anymore either. I do hope someone else has a more concrete answer that is more certain.

Out of curiosity, how many pails total are you aiming for? I'm attempting the tattoo as well and am probably well overprepared at 25 pails, but it's best to get a second opinion.
Depending on your TtH, you can check the last year's detailed data over here.
You even were the one to draw the conclusion Big Grin
Optimatum wrote:
Got around to doing the math for pails only. If you get the Noman at the very last moment and it lives for three TtH, you'll need (given this year's data) 20 pails to survive average losses and 25 to survive three high rolls.

To answer Skinnyman's question from the previous thread...

Skinnyman wrote:
Now a question: As I lost a point of Notability because my patronage was withdrew, I ask: how can I end my collaboration with another ex-patron? Been so long I even forgot about this aspect of the game!

If you're a Patron and want to reject your Protege, I think the relevant storylet is under "Attend to matters of Patronage" in Lodgings.
If you're a Protege and want to reject your Patron, the storylet is under "Attend to matters of Society" in Lodgings.

Also, IIRC the person who did the rejecting gains Making Waves but not Notability.
