Hello, Delicious Friends! Exactly six months after we set out on this insane gambit, the Bazaar has finally seen fit to authorize our wedding, thanks to massive numbers of 4th City Airag Bottles, Comprehensive Bribes, Personal Recommendations and Church Favours, other accoutrements, and… lots and lots of rats. And other rats purchased with First City Coins. And Surprise Packages and Green Light Inquiries, which were also converted into rats. Second only to the question of why the Bazaar loves love stories is why it is so eager for dead rats.
Stealing a page (and several category ideas) from Emelia Blaire, I’m also giving shoutouts to generous donors who went above and beyond the call of duty, but we are truly grateful to everyone who donated! If that's the story that I think it was, I'll go ahead and share it here too :P
A friend of mine who works at Baseborn & Fowlingpiece went with me on my most recent Zee expedition. The Zee was calm for most of the trip, but the day we were set to reach our destination, a massive wave washed him, myself, and my first mate over the edge of my Majestic Pleasure Yacht. The rest of the crew was in the cabin & couldn't hear our shouts for help, so my friend agreed to swim to shore for help. To my first mate's horror, my friend started swimming right toward about a hundred sharks in between us and land. But the sharks simply moved out of his way. My first mate declared it to be a miracle, but I explained that it was merely professional courtesy.

Taranlei, the Jaunty Mystic, and Vegalivia, the Shifty Spectre, thank you for the invitations. Glad to help with the wedding preparations, it was wonderful to see it pay off!
The Jaunty Mystic comes to hobnob with her clergy friends and subtly make fun of the more ostentatious socialites. She makes a toast to the couple by singing a bawdy zee-shanty, something to do with exuberant zailors ready to make full use of shore-leave after a long zee-trip. At the end of the night, she's glimpsed surreptitiously pilfering leftover morsels of cake and food.
The Shifty Spectre is probably going to miss the wedding, on account of being... hm, shall we say, delayed on some mysterious isle who-knows-where in the Zee. Which may not be a bad thing after all. They probably would've made an utter embarrassment of themself, devouring fourths and fifths of the wedding cake, and picking over everyone else's leftovers. Yes, be thankful they've missed it and spared the new couple a scandal on their wedding day.
