About a Particular Destiny...

Having recently started SMEN with my alternate account and knowing a holiday was coming up I was hoping to snag the "Torment" destiny and make my poor alt's fate official... only to find out you need to have made a staggering amount of progress and accumulated several candles in order to unlock it as an option. My question is... why? I mean it's a 3 point penalty to all your stats that you have to take voluntarily... considering that seeking the name is essentially a fifth unofficial ambition it seems odd that you'd have to be halfway finished before being able to make it your destiny- especially considering you'd need to spend fate to change it later on.
So... given I don't want to spend said fate I suppose I'll just have to forego picking a destiny? Unless I manage to make a hell of a lot of progress between now and the next Feast of the Exception Rose...

Im a sorta newbie seeker but I believe you get one of the candles pretty easily with the destiny, other than having to grind for it, I forgot what candle tbh, I think it's the one that usually requires nobility, I personally didn't get it for my seeker
