To be fair, you don't have to go through the first 15 levels of Renown, which provide 7cp and 14cp per favour depending on the level (though the first five levels are "free"). But even that out of the way, it's very tedious, and very costly.
Constables, for example, costs 1677.5e buying and upconverting everything from the bazaar (besides Identities Uncovered, which require Proscribed Materials. Considering their cost of 1.01e per material, it's doubtlessly better to grind those or alternatively, as I did, to use something like "A contact in the Great Game has a tale for you" to get them. If you were buying and upconverting Identities Uncovered, that'd be ~517,6.25 echoes. Considering that it's about halfway to Overgoat prices, it's a bit much compared to getting Identities Uncovered an less costly way.)
Without conversions, you'd still be paying 112.5e directly and 1125e for the battered grey overcoats.
Docks, meanwhile, has 3015e in cost with no conversions. If you could cut out the 45,000 drops of Prisoner's Honey and 27,000 Bottles of Greyfields 1882, it'd make it only 135e for the suits. However, with Unfinished Business options, that'd be 900 actions for the Honey on average, and at least 540 actions for Greyfields, not counting all the Rare Successes which provide no Greyfields. (It's worth noting you can get 1 Docks favour each time your Airs of London falls above 95, which would make this easier, but it also lowers Dangerous which doesn't help with raising Renown especially at this level.
I haven't done calculations for all the factions I'm doing/have done, but they generally seem to require about 1500.00e over time.

I have done it! I am grateful to the contributions of you, dear readers, in my now-completed quest to amass 777 packages.
Of course, it now strikes me as unwise to open them. Yesterday they were a delightful surprise to be savored. Today they are an ill omen indeed. But an opening is not to be postponed indefinitely...

Creating a classic short story. Also, getting London's Blood/Nerves/Sinew/Marrow all to 3. And maybe seeing the surface? Wait, I can't do that...

Cider for my main, all the treasures for the PP quality for my alt.
Just recently passed halfway to the Cider and the treasures. I am not sure I would grind for another cider on the alt at some point, might rather go for a cute heptagoat.

MINOR goal? That's way too difficult to call minor.

For reference, grinding Flute Street to Rubbery Men Renown 50 is quite tedious, but at least I have a shitload of Lamplighter's Beeswax and Storm Threnodies now.

Oh also, the Androgyne Libertine's Renown: Hell is up to 54, which if I've done my math right is the maximum possible until we get a new BiS Persuasive item.

The plan was to be the first to reach 50 Fabulous Diamonds (as I had a reliable way to get Fate at the time, using pre-paid phone credit as a payment method), though I know at least one other person has been working towards that goal - so it's entirely possible another will reach it before me. I'm also fully aware that it was a created rumour which started my climb and that it's entirely possible nothing is at the end (aside from the satisfaction of achieving that objective).
But I've made it halfway there, and I have the resources (even if not the real-world cash) to get another 5, so I'm pretty happy with my progress thus far. ^_^

It is, but it's one of the most varied! Once you have done all the works once, I suggest you stick with the Tiger ballets as they can be later on redeemed at the Court of Tigers.

I'm working my way to becoming a Paramount Presence - only one quality so far so that should keep me occupied. Both the Cider and the Heptagoat are beckoning, but I hate grinding for echoes, so they're a long way off. I'd also like to work my way through the fate-locked content, but real life (boo) keep getting in the way
