Unnatural Exuberence?

On the streets of Polythene attempting to advance some of the stories. Have reduced my Unnatural Exuberence to '1' without having managed to get sufficient Fascinating/Investigating to be able to open one of the storylets. Am unsure as to how to reset Unnatural Exuberence so can try again without leaving and returning to Polythene. If anyone can give advice in where to go for this or how to go about it, would be appreciated! Thanks.

There should be a storylet called "Spending Time." This storylet will let you cash out Fascinating/Investigating on various things if you have enough. More F/I gives better rewards, but there is an option that doesn't require any at all (and the rewards is smaller). All cash-out options, including the one with no requirements, reset the carousel.

My thing is that I don't have enough to actually get any of them, so there doesn't seem to be a way to 'cash out' in Polytheme once 'Unnatural Exuberence' hits 1 if you don't. I'm wondering if there's an option I'm missing or ability to or I hvae to leave and return to.

"Spending your Time" should have an option called "A Distressing Lack of Progress". Use that one, and try again.
