Yeah, you can get readmitted to the university, as that's mostly watchful challenges.
There isn't enough content in the game to get to 200 in every stat without grinding. Watchful is actually one of the better ones; most run out of content around 130 or so. Just keep playing the game, doing random stuff that requires watchful, and you'll get there eventually.

If you've unlocked a story, it will be waiting for you. Forever. They'll kind of pile up if you have a subscription and take your time actually playing through them. (definitely not speaking from experience)

I'm not sure. It is something that afflicts me in general life, not just FL. I always put things off until an imaginary "more convenient time" when I can really savour and appreciate them, and then never get around to it. It is the same reason I have umpteen DVDs and a season and a half of Westworld still to watch.

I think it doesn't actually reset until you go to organise your notes or something, but I may be wrong - I can go research any of the islands right now without doing anything beforehand to embark in a particular way, but it may be different for the very first time you set out, I don't quite recall. The wiki might be helpful to check whether any qualities are modified at any point.

I'm currently working with the Widow to restock my jade and to get the profitable conflict cards / Implausible Penance option, but is there a better way? Thanks. I personally always go for the Tradition Developed After the Fall in Ladybones Road, which gives wine (always good to have wine, for Tears and Blood and eventually perhaps a Noman tattooo) and, more importantly, a pretty good chance at an Aeolian Scream (might be something like 10% in my experience) which saves on using Urchin favours to upconvert plaques (with said Favours being better used on scraps in the Flit if you've maxed out the renown already).

If you're considering getting the Seven-Fold Knock, keep the scraps until you're done.
One of the items can be acquired relatively cheaply in the Heart's Desire Ambition and needs to be expended to proceed, which means it's possible to use it with the other three items to get London's Marrow - Treasures or reset the Ambition for Fate and keep it.

Question. If a storylet is locked with Impossible!, is it impossible for all players because the content hasn't been released yet, or is it impossible for me because I haven't reached a level of attainment that is deliberately hidden from me?
I ask out of curiosity, because there's a particular storylet that has been Impossible! since I went on hiatus 5 years ago, and I have difficulty believing that FBG hasn't implemented that content all along.
--- Second question, to do with social action etiquette. I (the player) have a main and an alt, listed in my sig, and many forumers list their alts in their sigs too. What is the etiquette about making Acquaintances with multiple alts? ie. Is it alright for my two alts to make acquaintance with another single character? What about my two alts making acquaintance with each of another player's alts?
I know it's a bit much of a muchness (it's all about the character in play, who cares that they're all alts of a single RL person) but I was wondering if there was an etiquette behind this. It currently feels a bit weird making Acquaintance to one character with all my alts (almost like I'm spamming them), but I'm sure this feeling will pass... edited by Vega on 7/21/2018
That means the content is as-of-yet unreleased for every player. And yeah, some things have been Impossible! for a while. They'll be released when/if they're done.

@Rhode:
Trading the knapt will not lock you out from any major parts of the story, and will gain you a temporary companion in return. I don't remember *why* the Bishop actually wanted you to steal it, but, aside from one minor option in Part II, the story will still be available. Given that you're saving a relative of the Bishop's, he's ultimately understanding. My memory is fuzzy, but there may also be a way to regain the Knapt in Part II.
Is the Trail of Crumbs storylet that's showing everywhere a new thing, or is it part of the July exceptional story (which I've unlocked but haven't played yet)? It's unlocked by having no Blemmigan Tourists, and the wiki page for it seems new. I could swear I've heard the term Blemmigan around here, but in what context I'm not certain.
(Edit: or, maybe, I could just play it and find out. It seems unrelated. And also adorable! Somehow I missed the trail of crumbs thread below even after a quick search. I will be baking cakes if anyone needs me.) edited by Daisy MacRae on 7/17/2018 edited by Daisy MacRae on 7/17/2018 edited by Daisy MacRae on 7/17/2018

Society is, actually, the easiest Favour to grind. You should obrtain as much Opportunity cards that will give you Society favours. Joining the Young Stags is one of them, if you're a POSI; obtaining the Clay Men carriage is another ("Use the opportunity to treat them well" provides a Favour). A good walk-through of the Polite Invitation card gives up to 3 Society favours (one for Jovial Contrarian at step 4, one for Rubbery Man at step 5, one for leaving and speaking with a Quite Statesman). And, of course, paying the visits to the Wry Functionary or Sardonic Singer gives Society favours. edited by Wojciech on 7/18/2018

As long as they're unlocked, nothing can take them away other than completing them (short of FB manually editing your account or something), so you only need to be an EF on the day the story comes out and play the storylet to unlock it and then you're golden. That's why you can get three storylets with one month's EF through careful timing.

One of them is required for the "normal" way to upgrade one of the four-card lodgings. Though if you're planning on doing that, the Neathmas option is vastly cheaper and does not require it.

Ulysses Kingfisher - I had gained at least two Starstone Demarks from Exceptional Stories and the like after I had spent scraps to get my first one. So had I known that I probably would have saved those scraps for something else.
That said, there are various rewards for many of the stories depending on which decisions you make, so nothing's guaranteed.

I use the Honeyden in Veilgarden. The options change with the airs so you can see immediately if you have got the value you want.
Exchanging wine for honey gives 1cp of MW. The honey can be upcoverted to Romantic Notions and exchanged for the wine when Mr Wines turns up, not vastly profitable but a reasonable cycle.
Some of the 2 action options are pretty good as well.

Yeah I had that happen for a bit, it seems to have stopped happening by now. I thought I was completely stupid for a bit, or that I'd somehow maxed out the number of icons I could have on that sidebar, because of the Popular Song menace, an (accidental!) point of Turncoat, and Irrigo--it was the first time I'd had Irrigo; I'd just gotten back from the Nadir. If you have a good nightmare reduction strategy Seeking Curios in the Forgotten Quarter can be a great stat builder. Primarily watchful but there are various options that use/raise the others.
It can also be profitable, though rewards tend to be random mystery items (secrets, cryptic clues, tales of terror). There are also a couple of rare successes that give Eyeless Skulls (value dependent on if you don't mind raising Liberation of the Night) and the 62 echo rubbery item edited by reveurciel on 7/18/2018

If you plan to stick around AND want a zub, grinding Whirring Contraptions for it is a good way to raise Watchful (either via the Flit / Wilmot's End carousel, or with Unfinished Business wax upconversions if you don't mind raising LoN). Just don't actually build it before you're done Seeking. Contraptions themselves and Winking Isle-safe.

Tip for that is to use the places that don't have location specific cards - the Forgotten Quarter and The Labyrinth of Tigers. Good luck and may the RNG be kind.
The options at the Carnival close when you get to a certain level of renown. The only other thing is that you need Carnival tickets to use those things. Use mouseover and you will find out why you can't use the big top.
