I'm working on raising my renown with all factions to 50, and I noticed that despite being the highest level you can raise renown to, there doesn't seem to be any reward for it. Does anyone know if there's any sort of extra option or item or other type of reward gained by getting renown to 50 or if there are any plans to add such a reward into the site?

Renown is uncapped, and you can certainly raise it higher than 50.
Using "normal" gear (and a Mood, and overcapping) you should be able to use the faction items to raise Renown with all factions to 52-54 (depending on the faction and stat).
Using special overcapping (e.g. via Flint) can help you get Dangerous high enough to raise Renown with those factions (Society, Docks, COnstables, Tomb-Colonists) even higher.
And, of course, some Exceptional stories can give a few CP of Renown to certain factions (again, uncapped). One player has already reached Renown 60 with most factions in the game.

Probably not. It's more of an achievement for the sake of achievement, like getting Poet Laureate.

Fallen London is not a game where something yields a better reward just because it was harder; in fact, a grind my yield no reward at all. Here's an old link from Alexis describing asymmetries.
Hope you'll get the idea, but do remember that the possible longest possible grind doesn't do a thing!

There is no material reward for Renown 50, but Renown 50 for each faction has a unique (and usually pretty cool) quality level description, which, depending on what motivates you, could be considered a reward.
