What is a person of mysterious and indistinct gender? An inquisitive little pile of questions!

I always thought that a person of &quotmysterious and indistinct gender&quot is one who refuses to answer questions about that gender and who refuses to follow gender-based societal conventions.
For example because they identify as an attack helicopter.
Or, given the full text of the option, someone who particularly despises Rubberies.

I believe that the "pile of secrets" is more a case of an unusual quotation in the localisation than an unusual translation, but, yes, that's the scene I had in mind!

Ugh, no tired-ass transphobic helicopter jokes, please.

A good point. Though arguably a Rubbery would also be a "person of mysterious and indistinct gender."

Has the finale for the previous season been delayed? I played all three stories, but the finale hasn't appeared for me.

I have a "His Amused Lordship" card, and the icon next to activity says "unlocked when you have Route: The Shuttered Palace". I am at the Shuttered Palace, but the activity ("Make an impression on His Lordship") is still locked. Why? You need to have the route permanently unlocked, either with "Opening the way to other parts of the city" or progress through the A Name Signed With a Flourish storyline, it won't do to just bribe the undercook with some silk. Have you attended the Ambassador's ball?

There is no delay as there is no fixed point at which the seasonal finale is 'supposed' to be released. Generally they typically arrive in the gap before a new season starts or between the first and second story of a season. Don't worry, it will come when ready.

But enough talk! Have at answering previous questions!
Is anyone else having trouble with a) the lantern card in Heists b) exchanging society favors in her majesty's court? They now do nothing for me, apart from wasting one action. I just tried the Call in Favors in the Empress Court one and yes, it's busted. It seems the redirect storylet is costing you an action and not actually letting you see the storylet for trading your society favors.

Ugh! "steam boldly" in the unterzee is also affected. This is going to make seal-hunting a lot harder, and I'm already out at zee.

Social invitations of all kinds welcome, especially games of chess and deadly sparring!
Also happy to help with nightmares, send sips of Cider, and plant battle.

well, I wasted some actions trying to do call in favours in empressess court and it didnt let me in and I tried a few times before noticing it was costing me actions. RIP I see here people are also having issue with.
So what was the question? Ask someone else

Is there a reason why Greyfield 1879 can't be traded up like every other first tier item on a crafting path? And follow up, what's the best way to grind '82 at low (<40) levels?

I suppose it's because it's basically garbage wine. You can trade it up with the A Presumptious Little Opportunity card, but it requires absurd amounts.

So. My current set of Shadowy gear has always given me +71. But suddenly, as of sometime today, it's now displaying as +70. As far as I can tell none of the gear has changed stats. Anyone else having similar issues?

Why do the ambitions (or at least Bag a Legend) go in increments of one and then jump to 10s (90, 100, 110, 120, 130)?
Older stories use consecutive numbering and later stories leave gaps; Failbetter began doing this in case they ever want to go back and add additional content. In the case of Ambitions, the first sections were written in the early days and the second sections were written after the change.

It's because Greyfields 1882 functions as the first tier Wines item, with Greyfields 1879 effectively being tier zero. Mysteries is similar with two bottom-tier items (Whispered Hints and Cryptic Clues), though that category is weird in general.

You should definitely cancel your subscription when you're not playing, yes. Or otherwise, mark the last Thursday of each month in your calendar as Exceptional Story Day and unlock it right away. It's what I do when I'm subscribed.
Regarding the story you missed: contact support, they're usually very understanding with this kind of thing. Just don't let it happen too often edited by phryne on 5/31/2018
