Dear fellow Londoners,
as I logged in today I found all my Maniac's Prayers gone, what would be the best way to gain/grind a new healthy stack?

Labyrinth of Tigers, level 3. First and second stages of carousel has a ~50 Primordial Shrieks option. So with action for upconversion for each 10-11 gains you'll get 9 with a little plus of MP per action. I don't pretend it's the best source, yet reliable and simple.

No, it were only 100 Maniac's Prayers I had left, might've been an action I had overseen, it's not worth making such a hassle, but I needed them to curry more favours with the Constables. Thank you for the suggestion however!

Yeah, maniac's prayers are one of the few items that it seems I never get naturally but keep using. They're used up for raising one of the Renown qualities, don't remember which one, in pretty big stacks. And for constables favors. So if you're doing any renown-raising, that could have eaten up maniac's prayers.

Look to the Labyrinth! The arena fights in the third coil run to something like 55 shrieks per action, which is slightly better than unfinished business. If you've reached the Fourth Coil and can get your Nightmares to 5, you have a still better option in the Somnolent Hyaena. Apply Fungus and Pious Wrath to the creature for a 70/30 chance at 310/210 maniac's prayers. With 2 actions in UB veilgarden for 100 prisoner's honey, 1 action to travel to the third coil, 1 to acquire hyaena, 1 to return to the fourth, 14 to raise both progress qualities, and 1 to turn in, that's 20 actions at an average of 14 maniac's prayers per action.
The Hyaena also allows for £1.40pa in shrieks from Breeding Through Discipline. Bulk upconversion is £0.50pa so Fungus and Pious Wrath will be more efficient. Or do a mix of both! The fourth coil has a lot of fun story text.
