Sending a Starveling also gives 1 UP, and has no other penalties or costs (other than an action), so you can ask someone to lend one to you and then send it back.

Has anybody ever gotten two Docks favours in a row from confiding in the Chandelress? Maybe even three? I'm curious as to whether the Airs can be rerolled into a value that gives another favour.

I once managed to get that result two times in a row, so it's possible. (You have a 5% chance)

So I have Embroiled in the Wars of Illusion 6 and I need 2-5 to Make my Name in the Heights of Chicanery(or however you spell it) storylet. Will there be an option to lower it at some point?

No. Embroiled in the Wars of Illusion is a story quality and needed to advance 'A Name Whispered in Darkness' to 7. However, even with Embroiled in the Wars of Illusion 6 and above, you should still have access to the Heights of Chicanery.
