You know, I was about to start saying how 777 is completely unrealistic so there's no point to continue beyond 77, but then I realised that you can actually grind cats now that SMEN has returned, if you have either an alt or a helpful friend. 777 cats will take 59,829 Brilliant Souls - which is equivalent to just under 30,000 echoes or, more helpfully, 21,273 actions (by stealing the souls in the flit, which I believe is the best source for them), plus 777*2 actions to offload the cats to an alt (since you cannot acquire anymore when you have one) and accept them back. Definitely a huge grind, but by absolutely no means impossible - around half a year of active play would do it.
Soo, what's the highest number of cats ever collected? I know 8 was amassing a gigantic hoard, but he doesn't seem to have been active for around a year. His cats aren't on his mantelpiece, either, so I don't know what he ended up achieving before quitting.

No, the Temple Club option caps at 10 also.
However, the Mr. Sacks options (i.e., during the 12 days when you can get +1 change point here and there and +3 change points at the end) WILL go past the 10 cap. I know because my Connected: Masters was below 12 because of ...a brush with the law, and working the 12 Days of Sacksmas got me to 12 again. Take a look at the Wikia. Most of the 12 Sackses will give you some CP for Masters, and the final choice correctly done will give you +3 CP.

Inasmuch as that ship has sailed, I went for the aforementioned 777. No idea why, but there are 778 now?

About this, it took about 22 months (only 4-6 without subscription) of drawing loads of cards. Probably around 100 per day, but for 4-6 months that pace reduced due to medical issues and a lot of work at my surface job. So, for a casual, it may take 2-3 years and an active player around 16-18 months. Biggest issue will be with Fire dream so, if you look for this, profit from the Feast's option (1 rare success from 45 regular successes after 65 attempts)!
