Odd thing today. I needed one more MW than I expected to advance my notability. Looking over my stats, I seem to now have 9 points of dreaded instead of 10, but I am equipping all the same things (Feducci's lance +2, kingscale boots +1, bifurcated owl +2, ratwork velocipede +2, shrine to st. joshua +1, Young Stag's club +2). That still adds up to 10 to me, but the sidebar shows 9 and Slowcake's amanuensis is acting like I have 9. Any one else have this experience? What am I missing? Or should I report it as a bug?

Other people have reported that Kingscale boots are not adding the relevant boosts. I'm sure that there have been bug reports but it might not hurt to let Failbetter know that this is a widespread problem

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.

No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

Do anyone know when Mr. Sacks will become a storylet?
I haven't gotten a Sacks card in days.

Day 1 already is a storylet. Others days are cards and I guess at this stage are likely to remain as cards. But maybe when FBG are back in the office tomorrow they'll change it

I seem to suddenly be getting many Dream cards I haven't seen before. Have I just been very lucky, or did something new get added recently?

Sheer luck. Perhaps the RNG has wandered off behind a mirror somewhere.

Edit: New cards also appear as your dream qualities increase. Perhaps you recently passed a threshold?

What's the best way to grind out some quirks that aren't austere, heartless, melancholy or subtle? Preferably steadfast, for 3CP of noman, but any that are easy to grind will do.

Steadfast, subtle, and melancholy are all +3 CP quirks.

If you really want Steadfast, passing a set of 30 First City Coins gives you +1 CP. You can pass them back and forth up to 5 Steadfast. That's one action from two people to get you 1 CP of Steadfast, but it's doable.

Associating yourself with a different philsophy (from Life on Ladybones Road) can get you Magnanimous, Daring, or Subtle, each at 3 CP for 3 actions (at the cost of another quirk). Editing a book of meditations on the anchoress is also noteworthy for being fairly cheap (50 foxfire candle stubs, it lowers Scandal, and it gets you a net profit of 4.5E in assorted goods.

Large donations to the Soft-Hearted Widow also get you 3 CP of Steadfast, but that's not grindable.
