It compares the original value, no worries.

So I've just noticed something on the Criminals card, for "Swear a thieves oath in the Medusa's Head". It now seems to check whether the Cheery Man is still alive. Checking the wiki, it does seem that the Cheery Man does play a major part in it, so in theory those who lost the Cheery Man would have a different outcome (although it would probably have the same effect), aye?

If the Cheery Man is dead, the Blind Bruiser presides over the oath-swearing in his stead.

The Scorched Sailor, up for most social actions and RP. Not as scary as he looks.

I need to go to the Tomb Colonies cause I wanna Tomb Lion, I have the clothing items already, i'll try the carnival thing, I sadly don't have a well-developed plant as I accidentally sold it a while back

Free trip there for offending the Empress, if you haven't done that yet.

IMO the best part about tribute is that it's a wonderful way to bank money during SMEN. If you're going after the knock and need to liquidate a bunch of stuff, you can turn all your cash into tribute and get it back later at a profit.

If you aren't going to be a Shepherd or Spirifer for a while and you do plan on continuing your Exceptional Friendship feel free to play the unrelated branch on the card - it'll reset the House of Chimes Regretful Soldier story, allowing you to try it again once you're able to finish his tale properly.

Some seasonal events (like hallowmas and christmas) use notability for things. Also some of the upper wine tier upconversions use notability.

If you're asking what exactly it is in-universe, that's a bit fuzzy. Yes, you get a more prominent mention in Slowcake's, but why you can use that to get wine and what exactly happens in the exchange isn't exactly clear. Might just be some abstraction, might be a game mechanic we're not supposed to think too closely about.

Another thing that came to mind is specializations and the stat overcapping that comes with them. It takes 5 to get a specialization and you can then convert notability to stat points over 200 at 1:1 (max stat being 215 with 15 notability). Also, of course, Paramount Presence, the ostensibly best specialization, that lacks the features and content of the normal ones and takes an absurd amount of notability grinding to reach.

TBH if you're doing SMEN, you might as well not do things by halves - pick the option anyway, for science.

I don't believe you would be, since adding someone to your contacts doesn't add you to theirs (not until you sent a social action, at least).

The new ES usually comes out at 12 Noon, UK time - so in about 12 hours time.

Hi. I just drawn a finishing card in a story of Regretful Soldier from the House of Chimes. I'm neither Shepherd nor Spirifier yet, and only option available for me there is dull and uncontent. So is that card unique? Will it vanish from the deck if I pick an option? And if I just discard a card?
edited by curtistruffle on 12/30/2017

If you don't like the non-Soul Trade option, you may discard it. You will see it again. And again. And again. It has Abundant frequency.

A better solution would be to hold it in your hand as much as possible, so that you do not draw it over and over. (I have, on very unlucky days, drawn it three or four times in a single grip.)
