I don't suppose the little extra seasonal storylet that hangs around for the duration of the season will be there, though (the repeatable actions that earn you a few trinkets each time). I am an Exceptional Friend, but am months behind on my Exceptional Stories and the seasonal storylets vanish when the season comes to an end. I imagine it works the same for somebody buying the stories with Fate. You do, as said above, get the seasonal conclusion, though.

Hi. I just drawn a finishing card in a story of Regretful Soldier from the House of Chimes. I'm neither Shepherd nor Spirifier yet, and only option available for me there is dull and uncontent. So is that card unique? Will it vanish from the deck if I pick an option? And if I just discard a card?

If you don't like the non-Soul Trade option, you may discard it. You will see it again. And again. And again. It has Abundant frequency.

A better solution would be to hold it in your hand as much as possible, so that you do not draw it over and over. (I have, on very unlucky days, drawn it three or four times in a single grip.)

If you aren't going to be a Shepherd or Spirifer for a while and you do plan on continuing your Exceptional Friendship feel free to play the unrelated branch on the card - it'll reset the House of Chimes Regretful Soldier story, allowing you to try it again once you're able to finish his tale properly.

So I've just noticed something on the Criminals card, for "Swear a thieves oath in the Medusa's Head". It now seems to check whether the Cheery Man is still alive. Checking the wiki, it does seem that the Cheery Man does play a major part in it, so in theory those who lost the Cheery Man would have a different outcome (although it would probably have the same effect), aye?

If the Cheery Man is dead, the Blind Bruiser presides over the oath-swearing in his stead.

How high do you want it? If you have high Hedonism and a well-developed plant then those heads of John the Baptist are an instant trip to the Tomb-Colonies.

Back in the day when I had neither a plant nor high Hedonism my go-to method was getting drunk and making an exhibition of myself at the carnival's refreshment tent. It's a Luck challenge so your Persuasive doesn't come into it. Also to speed things up a bit there are at least a couple of clothing items at the bazaar (a hat and some stockings?) that add to your Scandal score when you put them on.

Thanks a lot! It was a terrible perspective both to leave them in current state forever and to hold this card for a half this time.

Free trip there for offending the Empress, if you haven't done that yet.

Ok, before you start for the Tomb Colonies, make sure you have a Tincture of Vigor for the lion to follow you!
To get there: first, wear the scandal gear (scarlet stockings, Mods bonnet and the barrel given to you with enough Bohemians renown. With this on you only need to reach scandal 5.
For the fastest way to get there, you can repeatedly drink black wings absinthe which will also help with shadowy. Or you can go to the court to create a work there. If you spend Favor: hells, or pick the 'The Bohemians' option, it will increase your Scandal. Making any rubbery choice in the end (if applicable) will also increase scandal.
Once you get to the colonies, the first thing to do would be to remove your scandalous gear. Now you only have to get rid of Scandal 5, not scandal 8.
After that, while waiting for the lion, you can also farm for tomb colony favors, second chances, mourning candles etc. Just take care of your quirks, if you care about this kind of thing.

Writing a Allegorical Satire at Court will give you Scandal, but that's a lot of actions for 2 CP of Scandal.

There are a lot of cards that will helpfully give you Scandal.

"An Afternoon of Good Deeds?" lets you pick "An afternoon of mischief!" if you have 2 Scandal (to draw the card) and Ruthless 4.

The Rubbery card gives 3 CP of Scandal for shaking hands, and the Bohemians card lets you buy a favour for 1 Scandal and some items.

Securing an invitation to a scandalous party on the Townhouse card gets you +2 Scandal.

Those are the easy and profitable ones.

As long as we're mentioning works at Court: staging a ballet of barely-clad decadence will get you auto-exiled immediately.

The barely-clad ballet also gives an oddly small amount of actual scandal, around 10cp, making the return trip fast. If you’re going to write works at court anyways, it’s an extremely efficient option.

What are the latest and best echo grinds for end gamers? I find myself a little at a loss now that I have spare actions and don’t want to play new content yet.

Well, if you've completed all the main storylines it's still affair of the box (for non-fate players) and spirifage (for fate players). There are some better grinds in the labyrinth of tigers and university if one hasn't finished them.

Endgamers with several thousands in liquid echoes can buy orphans, trade them for tribute, and trade tribute in for 62.5E items in the Court of the Wakeful Eye. That requires actually having the Court unlocked, as well as a lot of money beat out spirifage and the like.

If you do have the resources for it, though, the EPA gets up to 2.0, or even 2.1, and the theoretical maximum is 2.2 EPA for infinite orphans and infinite tribute.

IMO the best part about tribute is that it's a wonderful way to bank money during SMEN. If you're going after the knock and need to liquidate a bunch of stuff, you can turn all your cash into tribute and get it back later at a profit.

Ah very interesting, you guys always have the best tips! I haven’t played any of the new content releases yet, so this is a good start. Have plenty of cash now since my next vague goal is for cider. How many orphans should I buy? Heheh
