He's just not very likable and doesn't do anything evil enough to earn a love-to-hate reputation. Just a slimy, privileged rich guy.

There's actually a summary in your own inventory - look for Notes on the Case of the Speculative Arachnid (it shares art with Stolen Correspondence) in your Curiosities section, and in its description you'll find out what happened.

I would like to stress this out: you *can* start the story. If you wait too long, it will no longer be current, and you will not be able to play it unless you buy it. Subscription does not automatically give you any story. It only unlocks the starting storylet branch. You still have to click it yourself.

Are there any non-Fate female NPC romance choices except Celebrated Artist' Model? She's all right, but I'd prefer to see the whole list, if any. edited by curtistruffle on 12/21/2017
Assuming this page is up to date, it would appear that the model is your only non-fate female NPC option: http://fallenlondon.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Spouse
Edit: Oh wait, you didn't actually say "spouse", did you? There are a few people you can romance but not marry. edited by Plynkes on 12/21/2017

To be fair, there seems to be one each male and female, assuming we are talking about potential spouses. There are a number you can romance beyond that, both in terms of seduction stories and tumbles in storylets. edited by Lady Karnstein on 12/21/2017

For most purposes remote lodgings are probably better for deck optimization. 5 cards can be handy for when you are saving a few cards, but that's probably relatively rare.
5 card lodgings are good for a few particular places, though; when you're looking at a small opportunity deck, it helps. Heists, the Nadir, and Polythreme are the obvious examples; if you're spending a lot of time on those, it's probably worth staying. Otherwise move for some peace and quiet.

Is this our last instance of SNOWBOUND! this season? Or will we get one more week? The SNOWBOUND effect should stay until January 8th.

They've announced Snowbound being in effect until shortly after January 8th, so it's at least two more weeks for everyone, with three more for those whose TtH comes towards the end of the week.

They are free for Exceptional friends, one every month. If you want access to the older ones, then you pay for each separately.

So, if I am hearing this correctly, Exceptional Friends gain free access to Exceptional Stories released from this month onward, but all Exceptional Stories dating up until last month are paid for separately? While your subscription is active, you can start the currently-active ES at no additional cost. There is always exactly one currently-active ES at any given point (when a new one is released, the old one becomes archived). One month of subscription will almost always cover two ES's. Once started, you can continue to play the ES regardless of subscription status.
Starting archived ES's, or re-starting ones that you have already played, costs Fate. Resetting is cheaper than playing from scratch (25 vs 45?).
(The new story for a month goes live on the last Thursday of the preceding month. So January's ES will go live on Thursday of next week.)
If you play all three ES's in a season, you unlock an extra story (usually released a few weeks after the last ES in the season). This story will unlock regardless of whether you played the related ES's as a subscriber or paid Fate for them a year later.

There are extremely few cases that care about B,D,R separately.
There's the search for the screaming map, which has some individual checks. The expensive non-christmas ways of getting five-card lodgings have B,D, or R unlock requirements.
One of the cards On A Heist has a Dreaded check. I remember one Respectable check in the Iron Republic.
The wiki tells me that two of the ambitions have one step that involve a check against one of those stats, but I don't think those are required, there's other ways to progress I think.
It's a few more than one and a half, but not by much. edited by Amalgamate on 12/21/2017

From what I understand, he asks you to kick yourself out of the Court for a reason he never goes into detail on, and he's
also mostly just a figurehead for the Captivating Princess, and pretty spineless himself.
Apart from that? Maybe he's just not that likable demeanor-wise.
