It probably was white by mistake, now the mistake is rectified.
However, it seems to me that the final choice is rather profitable. Am I making a mistake?

Can someone help me jog my memory regarding the crime in the University?

[spoiler] I know cantigaster venom fits into the tale somewhere, but I can't recall quite how. The senior reader was killed by a sorrow spider as I recall, so the venom wasn't used in the murder. He was found with a vial on his person, I think, maybe. Did we find out what he was doing with it? Is the venom a red herring that has nothing to do with the story? I really can't remember. There's actually a summary in your own inventory - look for Notes on the Case of the Speculative Arachnid (it shares art with Stolen Correspondence) in your Curiosities section, and in its description you'll find out what happened.

Is this our last instance of SNOWBOUND! this season? Or will we get one more week?

The SNOWBOUND effect should stay until January 8th.

They've announced Snowbound being in effect until shortly after January 8th, so it's at least two more weeks for everyone, with three more for those whose TtH comes towards the end of the week.

I'm curious. If one decides to become an Exceptional Friend, does one gain access to the Exceptional Stories for free? Or do we have to pay for those separately?

They are free for Exceptional friends, one every month. If you want access to the older ones, then you pay for each separately.

So, if I am hearing this correctly, Exceptional Friends gain free access to Exceptional Stories released from this month onward, but all Exceptional Stories dating up until last month are paid for separately?

While your subscription is active, you can start the currently-active ES at no additional cost. There is always exactly one currently-active ES at any given point (when a new one is released, the old one becomes archived). One month of subscription will almost always cover two ES's. Once started, you can continue to play the ES regardless of subscription status.

Starting archived ES's, or re-starting ones that you have already played, costs Fate. Resetting is cheaper than playing from scratch (25 vs 45?).

(The new story for a month goes live on the last Thursday of the preceding month. So January's ES will go live on Thursday of next week.)

If you play all three ES's in a season, you unlock an extra story (usually released a few weeks after the last ES in the season). This story will unlock regardless of whether you played the related ES's as a subscriber or paid Fate for them a year later.

I would like to stress this out: you *can* start the story. If you wait too long, it will no longer be current, and you will not be able to play it unless you buy it.
Subscription does not automatically give you any story. It only unlocks the starting storylet branch. You still have to click it yourself.

considering i have quite a few city vices cads, is it worth more to stick with my 5 card lodging, or to move to one of my remote ones?

For most purposes remote lodgings are probably better for deck optimization. 5 cards can be handy for when you are saving a few cards, but that's probably relatively rare.

5 card lodgings are good for a few particular places, though; when you're looking at a small opportunity deck, it helps. Heists, the Nadir, and Polythreme are the obvious examples; if you're spending a lot of time on those, it's probably worth staying. Otherwise move for some peace and quiet.

From my calculations the differences are minimal (on the order of a half dozen or so echoes a week), so go with whatever you personally prefer.

This is regarding the Exceptional Friendship stories. I hope this doesn't muddle the discussion.

So I am Dumb, and am often behind on Exceptional Stories. I always make a point to unlock them, but sometimes wait...quite a while before actually going through and completing them. In this case, I want to complete October's Exceptional Story: The Stone Guest. I am sure I unlocked it "to be pursued at my leisure" when it first came out. However, since I am Dumb, we're now on a wholly different season (TSG was part of the Season of Sceptres) and so I cannot access that seasonal card at all.

So my question is: how do I pursue this now? I believe that i need access to the Season of Sceptres card to proceed. Am I missing something obvious? Any help is appreciated - thank you smile

I am happy to share sips of delicious Cider. Here is a handy guide for making requests smile Most other social actions are welcome, especially help with suspicion, but please no Loitering, Affluent Photographers or Plant Battles.

I do the same thing re. playing these stories. In the case of The Stone Guest, you should have a storylet called A Chance Encounter! somewhere in London. It will be in one of the four early game locations.
Good luck -- I've managed in the past to mess up while trying to unlock ES stories, though they've improved the process considerably so it's not as easy. But I know I'm not alone in that, and it does still happen. Sometimes, the shared location is referenced at the end of a story, and on one occasion, support had to reinstate it for me.

I have a backlog of Exceptional Stories to get through, too, I currently have four clogging up my pages. For me "A Chance Encounter! London is enraptured with The Stone Guest..." appears in every London location, the seasonal card is not required once it is unlocked. If you can't see it then it looks like you may have failed to unlock it correctly.

Like Jermaine above, I've had instances in the past where I failed to unlock the story in time (when I thought I had), so these days I'm a bit paranoid in making absolutely sure that I have done so correctly pretty much the day they come out, and that I have the required storylet on my page before moving on to other business.
