Why does everyone on the forum hate the Veteran Privy Councillor with a burning passion?

From what I understand, he asks you to kick yourself out of the Court for a reason he never goes into detail on, and he's
also mostly just a figurehead for the Captivating Princess, and pretty spineless himself.
Apart from that? Maybe he's just not that likable demeanor-wise.

He's just not very likable and doesn't do anything evil enough to earn a love-to-hate reputation. Just a slimy, privileged rich guy.

He has a decent number of poor children he has refused to actually meet, and he ignores the letters from their mothers begging for money.

When I Gad about the Library in the Marriage of Feducci it says that
the odds are against me when I search the library ... but the following text shows no indication of how my luck was ... and, despite gadding about the library a good deal, I have only ever seen one result.
Has anyone got a rare success?
I know there's a thread for this seasonal story, but I'm staying away from it to avoid any spoilers ... that's why I'm posting here.

Good evening. Do Bizarre, Respectable and Dreaded have any difference except one and a half specific stat check or their separation from each other is pure roleplaying feature?

There are extremely few cases that care about B,D,R separately.
There's the search for the screaming map, which has some individual checks. The expensive non-christmas ways of getting five-card lodgings have B,D, or R unlock requirements.
One of the cards On A Heist has a Dreaded check. I remember one Respectable check in the Iron Republic.
The wiki tells me that two of the ambitions have one step that involve a check against one of those stats, but I don't think those are required, there's other ways to progress I think.
It's a few more than one and a half, but not by much. edited by Amalgamate on 12/21/2017

Social invitations of all kinds welcome, especially games of chess and deadly sparring!
Also happy to help with nightmares, send sips of Cider, and plant battle.

Did not known about 5-cards application of BDR, sounds weightful enough, thank you. It's anyway a pity that these qualities does not pop up here and there as nice shortcuts, profitable choices or privilege opportunities more often.

The only one I actually cared about was the heist one, which needs 10 Dreaded. Easily obtainable by getting a dreaded tattoo at the Feast.

Are there any non-Fate female NPC romance choices except Celebrated Artist' Model? She's all right, but I'd prefer to see the whole list, if any. edited by curtistruffle on 12/21/2017

Assuming this page is up to date, it would appear that the model is your only non-fate female NPC option: http://fallenlondon.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Spouse
Edit: Oh wait, you didn't actually say "spouse", did you? There are a few people you can romance but not marry. edited by Plynkes on 12/21/2017

To be fair, there seems to be one each male and female, assuming we are talking about potential spouses. There are a number you can romance beyond that, both in terms of seduction stories and tumbles in storylets. edited by Lady Karnstein on 12/21/2017

Yes, I meant marriage capacity indeed, thank you Devout Intriguer seems more my type, so non-Fate requirement shall go. Some day.

Has the Back to the Palace Cellars card always been bronze? I'm not sure there's much more I can do with it, so I'm not sure why it should be bronze... And, well, I seem to remember it being a plain white card up until now. Are we being handed a content update on the sly?

It just turned bronze today. I haven't pursued any farther, but it is part of a storyline, which usually means a bronze card, so...
