Also, if you are on the hunt for Taste of Lacre, you might want to obtain Night Whispers and Storm Threnodies to exchange with the Urchins for Pails of Snow. A First Sporing wine will be needed at some point, also a Consonant Violin, to increase your Connected: Masters quality. So would a Dreadful Surmise, and a high Dangerous score.

Ooh! The advent calendar! I forgot all about that. It's December already, isn't it. I think the advent calendar is my favourite thing in Fallen London. It makes me feel like I'm a little kid again.

The only other uses of Revolutionary Favours I can think of are up-converting Luminosity items (great for raising the Liberation as well) and raising Renown.
The conflict card is Amber in the Well - Revolutionaries/Rubbery Men edited by reveurciel on 11/30/2017

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.
No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

You do not lose the Surmise or the Violin. You do lose the First Sporing Wine, and you lose the Night Whispers and the Threnodies. edited by Jolanda Swan on 11/29/2017

Does the calling in favours in the Flit card really have standard frequency? I swear I don't see it above once a month and because of my favours situation I always flip cards in the Flit these days. I casually noticed someone mentioning their keeping the "Call in favours in the Flit" card in their hand while they built up the favours to use it and was flabbergasted. I never get to do that. I see it so rarely that I always have seven Revolutionary favours and usually two to three cards that give them waiting in my hand to be used. It is becoming a little trying, to be honest.
So secondary question - Is there any other way to spend Revolutionary favours if your Dangerous is at the stat cap, and you don't need any more Renown? Is there a conflict card? I certainly haven't encountered it. I seem to have hit a bottleneck. I can't accrue new Revs favours because I can't seem to spend the ones I have, I almost always have seven. This Night isn't going to liberate itself, you know.

I advanced to Monster Hunter job recently, and can't find out: does that profession have any implication other than lovely harpoon and weekly bunch of maps? I mean, half the top-tier professions have extra option of social interaction from affiliation items, so maybe MH, Licenciate and Glassman have some options too? edited by curtistruffle on 11/29/2017

Hunting a plated seal at zee has an option which requires a notched-bone harpoon and which is variously better than the ordinary option.

Getting Scholar of the Correspondence 10 is extremely helpful. Having the Nadir available will enable the best cash-in for Taste of Lacre (aside from the action-heavy noman popping).

Thanks. That's interesting about the conflict card. I don't remember ever getting that one. I ought to have seen it as I've had Rubs and Revs both at seven for a little while now. Hopefully it will pop up soon, as I've given up on ever seeing "Call in Favours in the Flit" again. It appears to have left me for good. I guess it was something I said... If you're not interested in renown anymore it's best to always have 5+ rubbery favours for rev (in case Flit card doesn't pop), constable as it offers the best cash in and, why not, tomb favours.

If you have access to the Empress' Court, you can burn them off to raise your "Inspired" quality. For those who DON'T want to advance the Liberation, this is probably the best bet in the late game when going for Laureate. For those who DO want to advance it, you're better off upconverting unless you REALLY need those favours gone.

Anyone else noticing a bug with the main game?
Like, the 'cost' icon next to the action bar, or the ribbon for 'plans' . . . they just appear as square blocks to me (like when someone sends you a smiley your device can't see). It makes distinguishing between plans and no plans on storylets impossible, as well as what the costs are or what I have of x quality before clicking.
(on another note, I think my alt's Time the Healer has also stopped, but I think that's an issue I'll need to contact support about once sure, as everyone else seems to be getting theirs fine? I think even my main is getting his TtH, too).

I'm also having the icon problem described earlier.
Does anyone know anything about this year's advent calendar?

I've been looking everywhere for the recently released Light Fingers content. Does it come through a card, or have I missed a storylet somewhere in the City? If you're talking about the recent email, that was referring to the content update that was released in September. No new Light Fingers content has been released since then.
If you still haven't completed that content... the storylet was available everywhere in London. If you can't see it, you may not be at the content boundary (which required dumping off a bunch of expensive items). Try zailing to Dr Vaughan's encampment.

There's a new icon by certain actions, the ones I've noticed usually have to do with SMEN. It looks like a pen and a letter. Does anyone know what it is?
From a discussion elsewhere on the site, I gather it is not an icon proper, just a sign the browser doesn't recognise the icon. I'm seeing it as well now after clearing my cache.

Removing the person from your contacts doesn't change anything on their end; your contacts is just the list of people who show up when you go to send a social action.

It doesn't really sound like an issue that would make Failbetter officially ban the player. There are no abusive messages or anything, just, well, harmful actions like ones that increase scandal. After accepting this a couple of times, I had enough of it and started refusing them all. Then I removed the person from contacts several times but it didn't seem to get the message. But it really doesn't sound like a situation where it'd be fitting for the administration to act. I just hoped there was some small "ignore" button that I missed. At least rejecting such social actions is easy enough to do and costs no actions.
Since it does cost *them* an action to send you the request, hopefully they'll realize it's not worth it and stop.
If it does get to the point that you feel personally harassed, you should definitely contact FBG. The fact that the game includes harmful social actions doesn't mean that players should use those to harass others. The game's Terms and Conditions explicitly forbid conduct which constitutes (among other things) "harassment or misinformation directed against other players".
