Ghosts aren't scary. You know what's scary? Questions. And this is the spookiest thread of the week!

Someone stole your Tanah-Chook! Would you like us to round up a posse to find the rotter?

Spare the posse and spoil the rotter, as my oompah used to say... but, no, I've simply trimmed my name down to something a little easier to manage!

But now how will people know that he's the namesake of a republic founded by third-city revolutionaries? The "Tanah-Chook" seems to have departed from his signature as well. edited by Anchovies on 10/30/2017

Well, the Tanah-Chook was certainly the *distinctive* part of the name. Why, Sir Fredericks are ten a penny, sir! I can think of at least three others!

uncanny Incunabulum can be made by upgrading extraordinary implications. I'm not sure how you managed to go through the chambers of the heart without gaining unknown pleasures, but you can also get that during the feast of the rose.

Okay, I am stuck for a looooooooong time. Not only do I not have the necessary amount of extraordinary implications, also I need Connected Benethic 6 - and I do not have even 1.
Oh dear - so perhaps next year or so.
Once you get into the University, raising your Connected Benthic is easily done.

Alternatively, when you have a ship (which you'll need eventually anyway to progress with the Ambition), you can easily get Uncanny Incunabulum on Mutton Island.
(you can also get the Incunabulum in the Cave of the Nadir, if you've opened the path there).

I remember reading a thread on the forums about this yesterday or the day before, and now I can't find it anymore. The change coincided with certain current events on the Surface, and the discussion got somewhat spirited.
Suffice it to say, yes the text is different, and I believe the mechanics are not.

This was changed since it didn't convey what FBG wanted it to, and (especially given recent events) made some people uncomfortable (which was not the intent of the option).
We've discussed it a bit in this thread..

Here's a question: What does Gloam Foam (available from the Bazaar for 400 Echoes!) do, exactly? All I know is what the mouse-over text says--you're to put it on your face, but not let it touch your lips. Does anyone have any enlightenment for me about what it's purpose might be?

"Gloam" is, as far as I can find, a variant of "gloom", as in darkness. I assume that gloam-foam is, thus, something that darkens the face - perhaps even some sort of anti-phosphorous, that throws the face into shadow when it might otherwise be lit! The Shadowy benefits of such a substance is obvious - concealing both one's presence (no reflections to give one away) and one's identity. The rather larger Watchful benefit is less clear. Perhaps gloam-foam has a chemical effect that heightens the senses; perhaps shadowing the eyes clarifies sight; perhaps it simply enables closer observation by concealing the observer.

Gloam isn't just darkness, it is dusk and the time just after. So perhaps not the darkest of darkness. I guess dusk isn't really a thing down in the Neath, mind.

It's increasing darkness! Maybe it's like sunscreen and you can layer it, getting deeper and deeper into the night.

So I just overcapped my watchful and got London's Nerves!
What actions should I avoid to make sure it doesn't drop? I haven't paid attention before... Obviously no Nadir, stay away from orthographic inflection... Are there cards at zee or in the tomb colonies I should avoid? Anything else anyone can think of?

Oh dear - so perhaps next year or so. Nah. You just need some cash, specifically enough to endow a University fellowship, and a moderate supply of Abominable Salts. Voila! Benthic connections as high as 20, if you have the supplies.
