Hello fellow people,
r u going to release a final patch for sunless sea that prevents that u have to play the whole story again when ur captain dies? There r only unofficcial patches that let u pass 2 or 3 big!!! missions from ur dead captain to ur new one. I really love this game. I ve written my own little logbook and played at least 80 hrs. I hope u dont make the same mistake for sunless skies.

Just make a Manual Save, which switches you to Merciful mode. You'll still need to play through those stories when your captain retires, but that's only when you're ready to move on.

U still have to play all stories again and that's what's holding me back from starting another game.

Won't happen, not t mention that it would really hurt replayability (in case of wanting to check other branch of story).
Sunless Skies is going to have semi-permanent world alternation, but Sunless Skies had 3x+ as much budget from the start (I still mourn the fact that Dirigibles reach goal wasn't achieved... My poor airships!)
