Delicious friends, you may now return to the Empress' Court if you so wish.
Head to Wolfstack Docks to find the storylet 'Returning to Court' to discover how to continue producing your artworks at Court.
Players will be able to take on new projects, such as film, opera and fashion. There are also new endings available for plays, poems, songs, novels, ballets and symphonies.
Enjoy your path to becoming London's Poet-Laureate!

Alice has been named the first (presumably) Poet-Laureate of the Neath. The resulting text was very nice, but a fair warning to those expecting a material reward at the end of the grind.... there doesn't seem to be one (unless there's another storylet somewhere that I've yet to find).

You know, I'm starting to think the Veteran Privy Councilor is all hat and no cattle :P He's not getting you back into court, it's all the Captivating Princess, who more and more seems like the real decision maker in London's ramshackle government. The VPC can't even take credit for arranging this visit, as it happens on the Princesses' own initiative, and he simply seizes on it to make you go away! . edited by Anne Auclair on 10/19/2017

Huh, is that intentional or a bug?
Just the Counsellor says: "Perhaps if a notably successful governor invited her at the end one of their terms."
It specifically implies one term, not five . . . also, the typo of "the end one of" instead of "the end of one of". edited by Robin Alexander on 10/18/2017 I took "notably successful" to imply multiple terms completed. One term completed just makes you a regularly successful governor, not a notably successful governor.

Now that we have yet more things to publish, perhaps it would be appropriate to move them to a "publications" category in the inventory? It would be nice to have a shelf devoted to my own works, and it would relieve some of the bloat in the curiosities section.

The new operas are pretty hilarious in their inoffensiveness.
btw, so far my only criticism is that when you're writing a novel, the Renown requirements for a novel about spies seems a bit low. Like, a Renown of 5 works for the Criminals and the Urchins, but shouldn't you have to have a Great Game Renown of at least 20 in order to write about what's going on in Vienna? . edited by Anne Auclair on 10/22/2017

Which just earns her yet another point for the position of my favourite character in the game. I also think that she may have a thing for the player at this point, this is the third time we get a description along the lines of 'tonight, she only has eyes for you.' . edited by Akernis on 10/22/2017

I believe that prof. Anton Moebius has become the third Poet-Laureate.
Scholars at both Summerset and Benthic are presently analyzing his works for hidden symbolic meaning. Both have presented convincing examples, to the outrage of the one and the delight of the other.

I really like the world building. A lot of the options involve either influences from Hell or the Elder Continent. London is in pretty regular contact with Hell, what with the railroad and the Brass Embassy and all the Infernal commerce they bring. Then there's London's colony on the Carnelian coast, where you served a number of terms playing nice with the Tigers. So of course those two civilizations would have a rather large impact on the Fifth city's culture.

There's a new option at the end of the normal cycle, so just go there and play normally. It'll wipe both Silver Horseheads and Striped Delights, however, so if you have a very high value of one or both you may wish to cash those in first.

You need to restore Emperial Legitimacy in the Foreign Office, and then reach five successful terms. So if you haven't had a successful term, yes, you will need to endure 5 of them, plus another to actually regain access to court.

I just wanted to say how much I liked this. After a few months of no real new content (I could grind for an Overgoat, of course, but meh) having something long and gradual and with a shiny title at the end, something with some real purpose is like a breath of fresh air. It kind of rekindled the old flame. I’m at Poet-Laureate 7 now, and I’m not going to make haste. I’m going to let this last. Perhaps in the meantime I will get some other stories, either through Fate or through reworks. I also liked the new works very much. Especially the ones having requirements. It’s like being rewarded for your past deeds. Finally having some use for being identified with a school looks nice, too. And it fills me with joy, listening to all those hushed rumours behind my back and knowing that no one at the Court can do anything to me anymore. If only I could also see the Barbed Wit again. I kind of miss her. edited by Aronia on 11/26/2017
