Yeah, I've noticed that too, not long ago.

same problem appeared for me, just now, with a lethal sparring (edit: also, chess). the problem appears to only lie with multi-step social actions? The single-step social actions (like the neath's mysteries or salon invitations) seem to be working fine.

Oh, I was just about to chime in to report this exact problem, too.
A couple of nice people are simulataneously trying to heal me and murder me, but I can't respond to either.

What's a good grind that gives Nightmares on failure? I hardly ever have more than 2 when the CVR guy comes to collect, feels like a waste. I'm already a level 7 SotC.

That can't be right. There are . I think you're going by this article, which also starts with $241 but has an extra trio of zeroes in there. $241 trillion sounds much more reasonable.

Thank you for catching the typo. This is what I get for checking the forums when my brain's shot from grading.

Tyrconnell wrote:
Really it's probably more efficient, and with a conceivable if vast amount of money, to simply buy Failbetter and run it as one chooses.

For that to work, the owners would have to be willing to sell, or you would have to be willing to put your money into various (admittedly, very Fallen London-like) nefarious actions to force them to.

Seeking curios and secrets in the Forgotten quarter.

It may not look that good at first, but a lot of the steps have rare successes that make the overall EPA good - you can get Eyeless Skulls and Brass Rings. (Just don't play the Dean option).

Social invitations of all kinds welcome, especially games of chess and deadly sparring!

Also happy to help with nightmares, send sips of Cider, and plant battle.

Again, it's amazing what kinds of willingness ridiculous lucre can produce. And just imagine: with billions to spend at will, one could engage in a consistent campaign of having couriers hand-deliver dead rats by the thousand to the actual offices of Failbetter Games. It would be glorious!

Use Head of John the Baptist (http://fallenlondon.wikia.com/wiki/Set_it_by_your_bed_when_you_sleep)
Move to the Remote Adress and flip cards 24/7. Refresh the deck via Flash Lay or Zee trips.

Yeah, I've noticed that too, not long ago.

Haven't submitted a bug report yet.

Guess there's no need to submit a report myself! But does anyone have problems with quoting on the forum? When doing so, the said text was gone and after submitting my message there was nothing in it besides the text from Dov's post.

Being absent minded in the past 1-2 weeks and not really being in my best state of mind, I was wondering what are the best ways to grind watchful? Chess seems to be consuming a lot of AP and clicks, but there's the University's Investigate option which gives 1 SI; CC can be obtained by cashing in the Investigate in Flit.
Anything better of something that isn't that far to unlock as I have an alt which *you know*.

    Many thanks!

The most profitable option by far is the War of Assassins in the Flit, but that requires being a PoSI.
The fastest option is still chess, I believe - and it's accessible to all characters to boot. Use your main to spam the alt with invites, and you'll get a bunch of making waves as a bonus.

I have already asked SM9 whether mailing rats was a Good Idea or a Bad Idea.

The verdict, alas, was that it was a Bad Idea.

What is the best strategy to write a Classic Short Story? Stop at 200 Potential and pray to RNGesus?

I'm having the same problem as well! The ghost requests of a few already played social actions are haunting my inbox and refusing to leave...

Personally I went all the way to 100% to avoid anything tragic. Achievable through using many trade secrets and case notes.

I think the issue might be the server mixing up the order in which the social action is sent and accepted. It thinks the action is accepted before you've even sent it out, so a ghost lingers in your messages. That's just my speculation, however.

Please do not send SMEN, cat boxes, or Affluent Reporter requests. All other social actions are welcome.

US Dollars are clearly "Surface Currency," at least until Richmond, VA becomes the Seventh City. Now, the exact amount of a "fistful" ill-defined, but if we assume based on the item icon that we're dealing in coins and not paper money, then I would argue that one fistful is about one roll of coins. Depending on the type of coin in question, a roll of common coins is worth between 50 cents (pennies) and 10 dollars (quarters). It can go as high as 25 dollars if we include dollar coins, which the item description implies might be the case.

This would convert $241,000,000,000 into between 9,640,000,000 and 842,000,000,000 Fistfuls of Surface Currency. A Fistful of Surface Currency sells to the Bazaar for three pence, while Rostygold sells for one pence, making this worth between 28,920,000,000 and 2,536,000,000,000 rostygold.

Working with an alternative definition, we could value A Fistful of Dollars at either $200,000 (production costs) or $14,500,000 (box office). This would convert $241,000,000,000 into between 16,621 and 120,500 fistfuls of Surface Currency. This would translate to between 49,863 and 361,500 rostygold.

So my seeker has gone to the carnival only to find herself one memory of light short and I can't find a way to leave. Am I correct in assuming I'm going to have to max nightmares to get out? How blindingly irritating.
