If you're purely going for money, you won't ever make back the investment from switching. 500 rostygold is needed to pay for those 3 favors, which is only barely worth it. That actually sounds really profitable.
Even ignoring other ways to cash in Favours (which are sometimes better), the regular "Call in Faovurs" options convert each Favour into 4.2 echoes' worth of items.
So:
- Actions: one action to use the Young Stag card, and three actions to call in those three Favours. Total: 4
- Value: 4.2 x 3 = 12.6 echoes. Minus the action's cost in rostygold, net profit: 7.6 echoes
- Total EPA: 1.9

Remember that joining a club costs a ton.
http://fallenlondon.wikia.com/wiki/Join_the_Young_Stags'_Club
You're looking at ~150 echoes (depending on how you value personal recommendations). You gain about 64 pence per draw of their card, assuming Affair of the Box is your standard grind (less if it's something better; in my case with 1.76 standard EPA it's an incredible 16 pence).
You're looking at ~250-300 card draws before you break even. A bit more reasonable than my first guess, but still, that's something like a year.
Plus the young stags are hypermasculine dicks who can go jump in the river :P edited by Kaijyuu on 8/9/2017

I didn't plan to join them (don't like those guys).
But it's unfortunate that they have such a profitable card, compared to the Parthenaeum.

The Young Stags were already mechanically better. At a assumed 90% chance the wine you could get is very slightly less profit on average than Affair of the Box, but it's one of the slower but more action efficient sources of Greyfields 1882, which is itself useful (for Presumptuous Little Opportunities, if nothing else, and now for buying Bohemian favours).

Exactly - it was a little bit better than the Parthenaeum, but not so good that it was better than other uses of one's actions and time.
Now, the Young Stag's card is better (EPA wise) than any other (non-card) action you might take in its place.

What's the status of Call in Favours in the Flit for revolutionaries? The wiki claims it's 720 proscribed material for 1 favor, but I'm incredulous. Anyone know personally? That is the outcome that I experienced a few hours ago. I think that was still before the "official" announcement, so it may have changed.
I drew the card a few minutes ago, you need (and lose) 3 favours now.

I remember someone posting a detailed guide to Port Carnalian here some time ago. Unfortunately I can't find it because the search-function seems to hate me even more than the RNG does. Does anyone have the link?

Might switch connected pets. Between the faction card, the Mayor card, and the Plotting against the Masters card, you should get 3 x Favours on average for every draw of the Calling in Favours card.

Might switch connected pets. Between Revolutionaries and Urchins, I imagine it will be pretty easy to always have a way to use Calling in Favours with the Flit. Even with just two sources of Urchin favours and prior to the Revolutionaries conversion, I seemed to get stuck at the favours cap more often than I fell below 3 Urchin favours.

I want to get a confirmation that the Affair of the Box carousel is infinite even if I move past levels for that grind? I don't want to lock myself out. Thanks!

You can temporarily lock yourself out if you raise Turncoat too much, but then you have the option to clear that (much easier now with the Favours: Revolutionaries conversion).

I have two questions for the masses: 1. Is there an item for converting Society Favours to Renown or are we waiting for one? 2. Is the Midnight Matriarch worth getting at all?

1. The Society item is Slowcake's Exceptionals. 2. As a source of Watchful, no - you're going to need a goat for anything seriously difficult and there are other cheaper options for BDR. However it is a good (though extremely expensive) option when using your salon which you might consider if you're after 15 Notability (this usually loses you the Matriarch). If you just fancy one but don't feel like paying there's always the chance to get one from a boxed cat.

So what's the deal with Glass and Shroud? The game wants you to pick a side before you know anything about either of them. Without getting too spoilery can anyone give any hints? Is there anything in-game that might help me pick that I have somehow missed? edited by Plynkes on 8/11/2017
