'tis the week of mysteries, and, thus, the week of questions! Of course, every week is the week of questions.

Also, what is the conversion rate of Connected to Renown when the patch hits?

The first 21 levels of Connected are converted to Favors at 3:1. The remaining levels of Connected are converted to levels of Renown at a 1:N ratio, where N depends on the faction. The original several factions had 5 or 6 levels of Connected per level of Renown. Everyone was rather suprised when Urchins had a ratio of 7, and then Hell had a ratio of 9 and Constables 12. Great Game had a ratio of 6.

FBG has stated that the distribution of Connected values amongst the player base effects the conversion ratio, but has not given more detail than that.

Everyone expects that the values for Society and Bohemian will be astronomical, because they're easy to grind. Church is a bit of a wild-card: it's not grindable, but many players have high values due to conflict cards and the Soul Trade.
No, there's no difference in the story whether you free the Prince or not. I don't think there's even a quality to track it, so it's unlikely to come up later.
There's nothing on the wiki, but it's not exactly up to date on all the social action changes.

I wonder whether previous cities adopted the adjective-noun formulation of naming.

I dunno, it just amuses me to think of Fourth City dwellers calling each other "the Drunken Horserider" and so forth.

What's the best way to cash out society, bohemian and church connections? I fear I've ground them too high as I'm reconsidering shooting for renown 40 with the upcoming conversion.

For Church there's also The Great Game conflict card, but again, it doesn't trash 500 CP. So best is to try and keep your Hell and GG favours to 5+ (for Church), Tomb 5+ (for Society) and for Bohemians just cash it calling in favours for some honey.
Another option for Society is to increase your connections with the Duchess as it's by far the best option at the moment. Or, I heard that if you get a Temple Invitation there's an option that kills some CP of Society for an average of modified persuasive number of Jade (it's 1 - mod * 2).

What's the easiest/most profitable way to grind Scandal?

I get tons just by shaking hands with rubberies and getting Hell favors (both their card and the option on "An Afternoon of Good Deeds?"). It's not fast but it's profitable.

Easiest would be smootching fake heads of John the Baptist, provided you have 12 hedonist and a head handy.

All you can do is try to minimize the number of cards in your deck. Draw cards in a location without any location-specific cards (like the Forgotten Quarter), live in a Remote Address lodging if you can, sell companions with associated cards that you don't want, and don't be eligible for other cards you don't want. (For example reach Attending to the Needs of a Singular Plant 19 to not draw those cards, and if you have C: Masters 1-10 stay below 100 Proscribed Material.)

If it helps, many of the Thunder dream cards you will be playing at this point increase WtTS by two or three CP at a time, so it's not as bad as it might look.

While at another attempt to get to Seeking (not SMEN) to 12 and see if there's any card similar to the level 10 and 11 ones, I started drawing cards in Mahogany Hall to experience all options.
Seems that A Geological Expedition card refers a location that I never heard about it: Prickfinger Wastes. After a little search, I found out that it's mentioned in Bag a Legend ambition so I didn't read more about as I plan to build a SMEN character which will follow this one.
I was wondering if there are any more references to it or any other information at all (other stories, ES or Fate ones).

EDIT: Forgot to mention that this location is mentioned in A potent possibility option on the wine card, but that's all.

When the next wave of renown arrives, what will happen to "Reaping the academic benefit". the option that grants 15 cp to Society, Bohemians, and Revolutionaries?

Also, what is the conversion rate of Connected to Renown when the patch hits?
