Once again, we invite you to speculate on the secrets of Fallen London. Some mysteries are easy, others are esoteric, and some have yet to be revealed.
Beginning today at 12:00pm, until 17th July 2018, the Mysteries Tab will return, revived from its close in January 2014. Try your hand at solving new mysteries about our beloved Fallen city.
To participate, find the Mysteries Tab (the final tab on the right) in the browser game, submit your answer for each lore question, and confirm it. You're free to change an answer as many times as you wish; however, doing so will overwrite your previous response.
The Mysteries Tab will only be available within the browser version of Fallen London, and will not appear in the app. Our apologies for any inconvenience – we’d have liked to add it to both, but the development time required would have made it difficult to justify bringing back the mysteries. Adding them solely to the web version was very quick, because we could just reinstate the old code. Mobile players will still be able to participate and receive prizes if they log in to the browser version to submit their answers.
Some things to keep in mind:
- there is no penalty for wrong answers
- your answers can be changed at any time before the 17th of July 2018
- it's only the latest answer submitted that will count
- unlike the previous Mysteries Tab, players will be unable to see random answers submitted by other players
When the Mysteries Tab closes, our rats will review your answers and reward players with special currency for each correct answer. You may then use that currency on new and old rewards.
Happy hunting, delicious friends...
Note that some players may need to do a hard refresh and clear their cache to see the Mysteries Tab. edited by Absintheuse on 7/17/2017

Ohh-hoh-hoh-ho! Now these are some engaging puzzles! I can hazard a moderately confident guess as two of the four London locations... and the mention of the "working man's friend" confirms a long-running theory of mine... but some other questions are fascinatingly revealing in their being asked, even without obvious answers. Who is May?

Well is says "Some answers are easy, others are esoteric, and some have yet to be revealed." so some of them are impossible to answer at the moment. We just need to wait and see what happens with any new content in the next year.

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.
No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

If memory serves, the last set of Mysteries answers were checked by searching for key words, so submissions that are too obtuse may not be picked up. Of course, you won't actually get in trouble or anything - you just won't get a point.

After all, I bet for lots of these questions, there's going to be lots of people who have no idea but try to cover it up by using fancy words. The question, I suppose, comes down to whether FBG handles the Mysteries entirely via algorithm, or partly. It is reasonably certain that nobody's going to go through every answer individually; even should someone wish to, it would be impossible to do in a timely manner, and that's assuming someone is told off to do it full-time until it's finished.

I feel like the location ones were already figured out, maybe around the last time of Mysteries, but hell if I'll ever figure them out without checking that.
I've got a surprising amount though. 8, with only 2 or 3 being guesses. A few more I vaguely know the answers but have to look a thing or two up. This is going to be fun! Though waiting a year for confirmed answers is...unfortunate
