Being in the Elections, I am actively trying Debates.
Sometimes they do stuck after the final step (when you got Winnings from your Debates), and I am forced to cancel them to free myself from A Debate Partner.

Just now I found the cancel option is gone. So I am stuck and can not debate anymore. This current debate round is done. And still it somehow don't.

Anyone else with similar issue?

If you started the debate and got your winnings you have to wait until your opponent collects theirs.

I don't know if cancelling meant that your opponent was unable to get their winnings - if so getting rid of the ability to cancel seems fair.

If the other way around it sounds like a bug.

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.

No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

They are not "stuck". After you choose "Debate!" you see your winnings, but this is a social action. The other party needs to respond to it to complete the debate.

By canceling the debate after you see you side of the winnings, you've left the other person with a message in their queue which leads to an empty storylet when they try to responds (no way for them to remove that message except to call support).

Want a sip of Hesperidean Cider? Send me a request in-game. Here's an_ocelot's guide how.
(Most social actions are welcome. Please no requests to Loiter Suspiciously and no investigations of the Affluent Photographer)

Seems a bit odd that the debate initiator should have to wait around while the other person finishes up. The final action doesn't actually affect the other person. I imagine they're still tied together due to technical reasons? Though the first participant could reasonably send relevant qualities to the other one so they can finish it in a storylet.

The requirement of waiting for the other person to respond to every action has made debating far more complicated than it needs to be and has now meant that I spent fully two days to complete a single debate. I know this isn't necessarily a design issue, but it's something to be aware of for next year. Basically if you want to get more than a couple debates done, they need to be arranged on the forums first, it seems.
