Yeah, but isn't that sort of the point? Something weird, eerie and unpleasant (but reversible consequence free) happened in the Neath. Complaining about it feels like complaining about Rats invading your lodgings; It's just something that happens in the game. In my case, I got it from a quiet evening in my Library, which was cool as I thought that would be relatively safe.

Like all dangers in Fallen London... now you know.
Everything should be an experience. You got caught with your stomach empty. Now you know.
So if it ever happens again, you should now know how to deal with it.
------------ Some Additional Thingies -------------
Having low AP (as in 1 - 2) isn't that bad. The black cards for those have very blatant options to remove AP without consequence.
Now, having AP accidentally go above 3 or so... how did you even manage that? Those cards have consequences for whatever action you take.
And don't let your AP become SMEN.
And for god's sake, don't let your SMEN reach 2.
