Most things are used in some storylets or other. On the other hand, most things are safe to sell because you can get more later. There are very few items that are both very hard to get AND useful for stories.
One rule of thumb you can use - if there's a repeatable storylet that gives you something, you can sell it. Another rule of thumb - if you could buy something at the Bazaar, it's safe to sell it.

Social invitations of all kinds welcome, especially games of chess and deadly sparring!
Also happy to help with nightmares, send sips of Cider, and plant battle.

I recommend not selling too much in the beginning and only selling if you need the money. Echoes are the least useful way of holding wealth here, since you rarely use them outside of the Bazaar.

There are also some things (like bundles of ragged clothing) I thought I would never use and ended up having to buy more at the Bazaar.
There's little worth buying anyway. A full set of max stat items (except shaggy goats) will cost you something like 3000 echoes; a large sum to a new player, sure, but they'll get that in the course of leveling up. Sell things only when in immediate need of money, and don't buy stat items unless they're the best.

But while leveling you end up buying more items. Keep in mind the CP gained from actions and you'll see that the harder the challenge the more you gain; so you'll end up buying a rat and other items that lowers a certain skill so you'll gain more CP from it. It the beginning raising your skills is more important than item due to the time required (it's hard to buy many things in the beginning). While you start raising Echo you might check the items for each skill, balance the bonus with cost, but also future uses of what you buy.

The option to become a Crooked Cross mentions the "Imposter Church" and the "Counter-Church." From the context these would seem to be two names for the same thing. Is this organisation mentioned anywhere else? Do we know anything more about it? Or are these throwaway snippets all we have? It seems to be affiliated with Hell, at least.

When a challenge says it has 0% of success does that actually mean "never"? Or is there some rounding involved that means that it's still *possible* for a success to happen?

I've never seen a challenge with a predicted 0% success chance that was even visible, let alone unlocked. Can you give an example of what you mean?

I specifically am thinking of the Parabolan Panther storylets with high Secret Miracles but that's a rather obscure example. The most common example is a brand new character with a Talkative Rat on mid-game challenges (for example the current election Flash Lay would do it).

I'm pretty sure 0% is 0%, though I'm not going to do 200-300 trials of a 0% action to prove it. My understanding is the system uses the displayed percentage, including being rounded to integers. edited by Kaijyuu on 6/29/2017

Is there a way to block players in Fallen London and stop them from interacting with me? I'd appreciate any input in this matter

"Set profile as private" in the "Myself" tab should keep you hidden from players who don't already have you as their contact. If you want to block players who already have you as a contact I suggest asking them to remove you from their contact lists. If another player is harassing you, Failbetter Games would surely be willing to intervene on your behalf, but I'm not sure if that applies to players who merely send moderate amounts of social actions without offensive messages included.
You could also go hide in some area/activity that can't be reached by social actions. But that's a bit inconvenient. And I don't know if it works for things like Christmas cards. _______________________________ edited by Gillsing on 7/1/2017

Thank you. No angry message was sent, but I just wished to not have to deal with a player who ignored repeated requests to stop sending me mobs and sent me another one anyway. That's just really unsportsman-like. Is there really no way to get them to stop without having to bother the devs or going out to zee till this blasted election is over? edited by Silvan Derre on 7/1/2017

Changing election career will do it, but that will cost you progress.

Why did I spend three GG favours on a stupid hat?
That is *worse* than a perfectly good hat I bought from the Bazaar?
...I think I've been had.

Does anyone have the echoes of the Calendar Council's library on each member from the Season of Revolutions? I'm wanting to make a post on it in the Salons, but I'd like to read up on it before posting.

The Exceptional Stories on the Fate page don't appear to be in chronological order any more. Actually, I'm not sure what order they're in -- apparently not alphabetical either. Can anyone remember the stories in the Heart's Blood season? I seem to have missed out on the epilogue.
