I'm on the edge of my seat, waiting to see how this year's mayoral candidates will be, but I'll wiggle back onto the cushion in order to provide a firm grounding for this week's quick questions quead! ...er, thread!

There is not yet a way to marry the Firebrand. A shame. edited by Jeremy Avalon on 6/23/2017

Why would I want to marry my dog? ...although I suppose some people treat their Firebrands differently...

Thank you. I was still waking and attempting to write that on a small screen. I didn't even notice your typo; I just said that because I named my firebrand "dog" and thought of him as such.

(from previous thread)
Does someone know the average echo value of Pugilism and Politics/Beating the Minister option? Wiki says it gives 1-2 Magnificent Diamond but I don't know how often it gives 1 vs 2. Is it about 50-50, or is the 2 diamond option more like a rare success? As far as I know, ranges are equally weighted. So it should be 50-50.

I just had this pop up while clicking on a card (Sinning Jenny's one, as it happens):
Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour You've gained 1 x Cryptic Clue (new total 28971)
Never seen that before. Once it was done I was redirected back to the card, which worked as normal. What's that all about?

AFter much grinding I got my correspondence stones back. Is this just a nice to have or will it trigger more storylets?
Just nice to have, I think. Having the stones unlocks an option on Understanding the Correspondence in the Forgotten Quarter at A Name in Seven Secret Alphabets 5–6, but that's all I can find. I do suspect that FBG might have made plans for them to be useful in the long term (otherwise why have the storylet in which you recover them?).

Action-wise I'd recommend drawing cards that give favours and Scandal: Shaking 'hands' with rubbery men (3 CP), afternoons of mischief (2 CP) and attending brass embassy lectures (1 CP). Once you hit Scandal 6 you should be able to wear items for another +2, and get exiled to the Tomb-Colonies.
EDIT: For people in a real hurry I recommend drinking Black Wings Absinthe. Don't bother sharing, and you'll get 5 CP Scandal all to yourself. If you start from 0 and wear items you'll get the first level (1 CP) for free, so just four bottles would take you to level 6 (21 CP). The truly desperate can always try some hot wine at Mrs Plenty's Refreshment Pavilion. But apparently it could take 40 Actions or so to get 20 CP. ________________________________ edited by Gillsing on 6/21/2017

My actual question is this: Are there any forced punishments from Seeking The Name? Forced wouldn't mean a storylet you willing go through, but rather An un-discardable card that's only purpose is to cause detrimental effects... and also that Forgotten Quarter soulless thing.
Unless you manage to sell your soul after staining it (a rather difficult thing to do accidentally and something you are warned against doing) and then visit the forgotten quarter nothing that Seeking does is a surprise. It's a vicious story that requires you to give up much. But it's honest in it's viciousness. You never do anything without prior warning of the consequences.
