Sigh. I'm at 254 which barely got me to 38 Renown (+ 7 Favours). And I was just *in* the Mirror Marches yesterday! Ah, well. At least I'm ready for the 25 Renown item, anyway.

Took an unwanted visit there some time ago and it's not my favourite place due to dream loss. But sounds great! Time to get maaaaad! I love that place and I'm absolutely thrilled they put the Great Game item there! ^^

It totally makes sense in context of the Woods in Winter, which was a cool lore piece. Unfortunately, this is the one top-tier Renown item I'm a little disappointed in as a Midnighter.
Also, Cathy Raymond, why not get up to 39 Renown since you've got the 7 favours right now, instead of getting the 5-favour item? edited by Toran on 6/6/2017

In case someone who isn't grading term papers wants to update the wiki: I can confirm that the rare success for allowing Dr. Schlomo to publish your dreams of war-games does now grant a Great Game favour.

Feh. I should have done so, I suppose. But I had a fit of lust for instant gratification.

I had 52 connected and received 0 renown and 7 favors. I also can still see the connected quality for some reason. Same with connected Hell.

They always leave a few days' overlap in these conversions, I suppose so that any problems can be more easily sorted out. They will eventually go the way of all former faction connections.

1000 Brass Wanted (Ladybones Road only, I believe) now earns a Favour! That's pretty exciting.

GG favors aren't very valuable, so I imagine most people won't give up the Flit or Lodgings cards for this. Still, it's nice.

So it seems we can gain Great Game favors most of the ways we used to gain Connected? edited by Anne Auclair on 6/7/2017

But what do you mean by lodgings cards? My opinion on TGG Favours is that they are best cashed in via Call in favours in the Wolfstack Docks and convert those CC which is around 2.065 EPA.
And to be honest, I find that Constable Favours aren't gerat at all! Let's say you buy one for 0.5 and get 4.2 from the Court; this takes you to 3.7/2AP which is only 1.85 EPA.
As I'm always trying to have 5+ Tomb favours to cash in Society, means that I won't favour the Rubbery in their CC. But Rubbery-Rev CC is best way to cash in the favours. Buuut, Constable have their best cash in with the Rubbery (2 for 8.5) which means Rubbery above 5 should be cashed in FQ. Problem is that Rubbery have a great cash-in with the same Constable CC! Crime or punishment? seems to give 6 E for 2 Favours. I only gathered this data from Wiki and I wonder if Tomb-Rubbery CC hasn't changed in the way that it consumes only 2 Favours.
But I'm guessing that the whole system will be changed once all relevant factions are converted. This will happen somewhere around the end of summer, maybe!

Since there was mention of the Mirror Marshes, and the loss of dreams, just how much of your dream qualities do you lose entering, getting out, and finally exiting? I've never gone to that location, and all of my dream qualities are very high. It would be a shame to lose them.

It depends on if you enter the other nightmare area or not (which you might do accidentally if you're going in blind). Exiting from the Mirror Marches only costs 10 CP of a single quality, while exiting from the other place costs 5 CP of every dream quality. So not that much either way if your dream qualities are all very high. Certainly not even close enough to make you lose any of them.

You just lose a few cps of Someone is Coming, a memory of light and gain some wounds when you leave the Mirror Marches.
Just don't take the familiar place storylet as that will take you to a state of some confusion where you will lose some of every dream quality when you leave.

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.
No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

Because I'm an idiot, I recently took the "familiar place" storylet after cashing in great game favours. Haven't been near nightmare menace area in years, and foolishly thought I'd re-read all the options.
Oh well, at least it was only a bit of dreams, and I have a nice new home comfort. A whole 5 more watchful than before. Chance of getting the good reward from 8-action goat card has gone from 54% to 55%. Although with the second chance you always use on that it's more like a .5% better chance. But totally worth it!

Thank you very much for explaining to me what the losses are! It makes going there much less intimidating.
