Seems as if A contact in the Great game has a tale for you now unlocks with Favours: The Great Game 5, even though the conversion hasn't happened yet, and I don't have any such Favours. Curious. I thought it would take longer, but now I can't seem to find the text that mentioned roughly when this faction would be converted to Favours and Renown.

It was supposed to happen this week (no exact date given). I guess it has started.

Looks like the Great Game connection item presently only has the option that consumes it for increasing subtle, no connection or favour options.
Edit: Looks like the favour options got added as I was typing this. Heh.

Connected: The Great Game 366 was thankfully enough to convert to Renown 50: "You are the pawn who reached D8".

I went to the carnival to talk to some spies to get a renown increase, used 2 actions and some carnival tickets and got nothing.

This corresponds with a conversion factor of either 6 or 7 (depending if it rounds down or up)

Not for me. I think I simply didn't have enough Connected to get any Renown. I only got favours. I also just wasted two actions at the carnival. Talking to spies does nothing but lose you a carnival ticket and your actions currently.

I have no Renown so I can't get anything yet, but I've been holding the Faction card in my hand for a few days.
The 10-Renown Item is named [spoiler]"A Subscription to the Gazette and a Whetted Pair of Scissors."[/spoiler]
The Faction card now has an option to earn Favors ("Assist in a Stakeout"), whereas previously it did not have a way to increase Connected. It increases Wounds, presumably on account of the coffee.

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.

78 connected got me 9 renown . . .
I'm pleased, as I wasn't expecting even that much, to be honest, with conversion rates going as high as they have, and my character isn't one for the Great Game anyway. Still, 7 favours will come in handy

For anyone too lazy to pull up calc.exe, this puts the conversion factor at 6, which is even lower than Urchins was.

I basically sacrificed connected hell and constables in order to focus on The Great Game and it worked! I have renown 50!
