Correspondence Plaque? (end game grinding) Messages in this topic - RSS

I like to be working on a few impossible, or at least improbable, things at a time.

Now that my stats are 200, I need a new task to interlace with the card sending that's slowly grinding my newspaper qualities to higher and higher levels.

So, my next pick is courier's footstep.

I'm at 11, so I've got a long way to go. I've got equipment enough for the final step, that was, oddly, the easy part, it just took time.

So, now I just need to locate the best grind for plaques.

Should I just be going round and around after the box?

Shrieks to prayers to plaques?

Journals?

Sadly the wiki page is half complete...

so I don't have my normal goto.

Edit: looks like I'll ALSO need screams, but I can upconvert for them, so just means I'll need even more of everything, however I end up getting it.

My plan was stealing journals of infamy in the flit. They can be converted into both correspondence plaques and extraordinary implications. And the correspondence plaques can be converted farther into aeolian screams.

If you also happen to be grinding echoes for something else (like the ubergoat you might well need to get to courier's footprint...), the affair of the box carousel allows you to grind echoes and plaques at the same time. Having said that, grinding the amount of plaques you would need for courier's footprint purely from AotB would take a monumental amount of time. Stealing journals of infamy in the Flit and then cross converting is much more efficient plaques-wise.

I worked getting my news paper up to max in all three categories while getting journals to convert to plaques. Always working on synergistic goals.

How many third-tier items do you have floating around? If you've got a stockpile (say, for Wave generation), side-conversion may be your simplest option.

Another option could be ammassing a great number of shrieks, and then ask for an invitation to the Temple Club: that area offers a direct conversion from Shrieks to Plaques that is more efficient than normal upconversion.

I did some math a while back that seemed to show that Thefts of a Particular Character aren't actually the best source. That averages 2.45 plaques per action, but repeatedly breeding the Somnolent Hyaena through Fungus and Pious Wrath and upconverting is ~2.6 or ~2.7 plaques per action (depending on whether the luck check is 70% or 80%). Those numbers are slightly low as well since I didn't count the rare success when getting honey via Unfinished Business and ideally you'd be using A Merry Sort of Crime too.

I don't remember the amount of my numbers, but I recorded a "70%" as a result of them.

I think I really WOULD like to use the temple club to upconvert shrieks.

... wouldn't I have to regularly be driven to the toumb colonies to get the hyaena to grind?

So, I really want to grind shrieks....

Rob a drunk for them, with shadowy as high as possible?

I've got my 'goat, but I can grind towards a heptagoat... watchful is 276.

My overall stockpile was deminished as I went rather briefly insane and nearly lost my head. Even lost my bottle of blood that I was going to convert into a very rare book. The only good news is that I didn't have an impossible therum to have lost too. So I am rather rich in echoes, but low in items.

So, assuming temple invite, best place to get the shrieks?

The Hyaena is in a lower coil of the Labyrinth of Tigers. You're thinking of the Tomb-Lion.
