If you have any friends or alts with scandal they can deliberately dupe you to gain 6 cp of scandal each.
There's also the scarlet stockings and modish bonnet for two free levels of scandal.

Are there any repeatable actions to gain scandal? I'm finally able to go to the tomb colonies to collect a prize. Trying some hot wine at the Refreshment Pavilion in the Carnival has a 50% chance to give +1 CP of Scandal (and 50% chance to cure 2 CP of Nightmares).

Thank you. I was hoping for something that isn't a social action though.

There's one ending to the romancing at court that gives you an immediate "Go to the Tomb-Colonies - Do Not Pass Go" ticket.
And then there's always smooching with counterfeit heads of John the Baptist, if you are hedonistic enough. I believe that gives you a bucketload of scandal. I have about twenty-five of those things in a cupboard somewhere. Haven't actually tried it yet, mind. edited by Plynkes on 5/24/2017

Is there anything other than passing skills tests required for a successful newspaper? I can never get enough to get anything other than chip paper and the choices are to inconsistent to allow me to build a sufficient number of quality pages.

If you leave doubt street you start drawing cards that increase your newspaper without bringing the deadline closer. (I don't think its explained)

Oh! That's good to know, thank you! I will make use of my mood improving card once I have a full complement of actions.

To clarify 2 points:
You don't have to leave doubt street. You can draw the cards anywhere, but it's a common question whether they can only be drawn in doubt street.
Success on these cards does not advance the deadline, but failure does.

Just returned to the game after a long sabbatical away to focus on my studies to find that it now takes 30 minutes to refresh an action. I just need to clarify if this is a bug or an update and if the latter, why

It didn't seem like something the devs would do on purpose, I'm glad the trust wasn't misplaced Is it currently fixable with a bug report or do I just have to wait it out?

There's no fix, but they did ask people to report these to support@failbettergames.com so they can track it better

Did we get an epilogue for the Season of Stones yet? I really can't remember. Head like a sieve, me. A sieve full of Jumblies heading out to sea.

As a question of my own, is there any connection between the Silver Tree and the sidebar text about the letter the Pope wrote without which Rome would've been the Fourth City? Is there any more elaboration on that letter, or is it just part of the unreliable narrator? edited by Azothi on 5/25/2017
