Confident Smiles or Stolen Correspondences

I'm playing the Heart's Desire Ambition, and am currently stumped. I'm on Heart's Desire 3 and I need either Confident Smiles or Stolen Correspondences in order to progress. But, everything I've seen in the forums for where to get these items seems to be for later in the game. I'd really rather not have to put working on my Ambition on hold until I become a Person of Some Importance. What are the best ways for someone in the early game to get the items needed to advance past this early level step in the Ambition?

Invite someone to coffee at Caligula's. That is the simplest and easiest way to get Confident Smiles.
In fact, I will be happy to accept an invitation.

Ah, confident smiles can be acquires easily through social actions: invite someone to a private supper for 2 of them.

Thank you to everyone who answered, and a HUGE thanks to those that sent me invites. You guys all rock. I managed to get some Stolen Correspondences to be able to progress. But, I'll likely take you guys up on your offers to start stockpiling for the next time I need these things. Thanks again!
