Maybe their question was as to the nature of the price, not how high it is. The overgoat costs an oddly specific amount of echoes: 11712.80. Maybe it's someone on staff's phone number?

Visual glitch. You should be getting actions and cards at the same rate... just don't trust the timer.

Iron Republic for sure - your menaces will jump around while you are there and you can spend your days quality to reduce them when you reach the end as well.

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.
No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

1. If you're worried about trimming your deck, it's best to carry the devil storyline all the way to the end and sell your soul. It's the only way they go away completely. 2. Someone else would be better equipped to answer this, but I do know to avoid getting in a relationship with the struggling artist's model. 3. You can't; they do nothing. 4. Persuasive specialization has an option on the Amanuensis card, not sure about the others. Each lets you boost that stat above 200, though. 5. Not full stories, as far as I know. 6. Being of the veteran of the great game is necessary for later content and you become one by finishing the cheesemonger story, so I'd advise doing it eventually. 7. I don't think so. As far as I recall, the only use is in SMEN. edited by Pumpkinhead on 5/20/2017

Where've you been finding easy Criminals favors? I've been hanging on to "a fair sized job for the right cracksman" for a few days and haven't gotten anything except from the Criminals connection card. Does it get easier once the Gang of Hoodlums is acquired? Criminals are by far the easiest Favours to gain, since there are so many cards which provide them:
Standard frequency:
- The Criminals card (obviously)
- The Mayor's card
- A Visit (Visit your acquaintance, the Repentant Forger)
- The Marsh-Wolf card (if you have it as your connected pet)
- The Gang of Hoodlums card
- Smoky Flophouse card (if you have this lodgings, and are an annoyance to Jack-of-Smiles)
Infrequent:
- The Alluring Accomplice card (if you have her as a companion)
- The Ruthless Henchman card (if you have him as a companion)
Very Infrequent:
- A drink with the Cheery Man (if you've favoured him)
- Master Jewel thief card (if you have him as a spouse)
- A merry sort of crime (when Renown: Criminals is 20).
And in addition to cards, Enforcers receive 1 x Favours: Criminals every week.

You can miss out on the story of the curate and his sister if you progress through the Persuasive tracker too quickly.

What stories or qualities that give useless cards I should avoid like a plague? Never visit the palace wine cellars. (http://fallenlondon.wikia.com/wiki/The_wine_cellars_of_the_Palace) Side with the Cheery Man, not the Last Constable. (might be unimportant when they convert constables to favours) Don't kill the Big Rat. (this one at least can be fixed with fate, however) Stay away from Struggling Artists. Don't get any of the POSI items except the transports and gang unless you REALLY want the stats. (the transports give good EPA but affect quirks) Never buy lodgings except the Bazaar lodgings and a handful that give criminals favors. edited by Kaijyuu on 5/21/2017

Bazaar lodgings? I want to obtain a lodging in a Spire Emporium as I already found Nadir, but I have only one Bazaar permit as of yet. What is the best way to grind Bazaar permits? The War of Assassins in the Flit and Forgotten Quarter, definitely. If you choose your enemy to be "A Rival in Power", you gain 3 Bazaar Permits for every cycle.
For the Spire Emporium, I definitely recommend waiting until Christmas. It's much, much cheaper to buy then.

The War of Assassins provides 3 x Permits for 34 actions.
However, with a Gang of Hoodlums and sufficient Shadowy, Thefts at the Flit provide 1 x Permit for every 10 actions.

At really high stats/items, the Overgoat card will provide 1 permit (plus another nice item) for 8 actions at ~75-80% chance using a second action, and heists will give you 2 permits (+200 cryptic clues) for ~15 actions. edited by Kaijyuu on 5/21/2017

Going with Kaijuu for heists as an option for the lodgings. Better yield, but the disadvantage is that it's best done from a PC to check wiki for the cards and not to miss click! Besides this it can refresh you deck as exiting from one provides 3x cards.

RP I would say, but the Young Stags has a way better card!

Is it worth to purchase inside information for heists? This depends if you have a 5C lodgings, 10+ Dreaded and some experience with heists. Using the gang and Topsy King option for the extra Casing requires you to spend two more AP to get an inside information (II). During most heists that II will save you 1 AP, but sometimes will save you from failing! If you have a 3C lodgings it's always best to get one II even if you have 10 Dreaded! If you haven't done any heists I would say to buy two just to get yourself accommodated with them; after that you can stay with one.

As lodgings go, premises at the Bazaar are definitely very profitable (but at the risk of being fairly costly if you have low Persuasive). A room at the Royal Bethlehem is decent to grind scraps and becomes profitable to the tune of more than 2 echoes if you're a spirifer from the Fate-locked story A Trade in Souls. A rooftop shack is great as early lodgings, as it's fairly cheap and unlike many cheap lodgings has a card that'll give you 3 echoes in wine for succeeding on an Acquaintance: a Repentant Forger check but that will increase your Acquaintance if you fail.
If you're just getting started with heists you probably have 3 card lodgings, not a whole lot of Dreaded, and no intricate kifers. You can skip getting an escape route but I would go with at least 2 Inside Information, and 3 if you're trying to get to 7 Burglar's Progress to get Bazaar Permits.
That's not aggressively optimized, but it let me comfortably get through heists with comfortable victories and no emergency Ablution Solutions to stay out of prison. You're not guaranteed safety, but it's very likely

The "a private detective" card has a rather difficult option to investigate Mr Slowcake, which hints that the man is a fictional cover for a devil conspiracy. Is there any content, including in Fate-locked stories, which delves deeper into the existence of nature of Mr Slowcake? I don't want spoilers beyond whether more is learned about the man or myth, just looking for further avenues to pursue an in-game investigation.
