Hello one and all. I come seeking aid in this world of ours. I have hit a wall, a very firm wall, and I am unsure of where to go from here. I will list below my traits/attributes and some of the things I have done or what I have become in my time in the city. Please note that I am an Exceptional Friend for the next 25 days and I have already gone through the story of the Valkyrie. I also only have 11 fate to my name. I am considering possibly getting more so I can enter the Soul Trade or follow another story but I have yet to make up my mind due to ennui. Watchful: 178 + 20 Shadowy: 175 + 24 Dangerous: 169 + 19 Persuasive: 191 + 16 Person of Some Importance: A Significant Individual A member of the Young Stags' Club I own a yacht, respectable landau, a regular velocipede, Basalt Gymnasium Currently trying to gain Favours with Criminals specifically to undertake a Fashionable Caper. I have been to Wilmot's End and the Foreign Office, performed on various days of the week at Mahogany Hall. I have sailed the zee and seen many locations, including visiting Dr. Vaughn for my Ambition and Polythreme to annoy Jack some more. I found and explored the Cave of Nadir on a small handful of occasions (although I have not yet sold its location). I am still unwelcome in the University. I am probably missing plenty more of my story for those interested. If there are those who need more information to aid me on my journey, please do not hesitate to ask. I am more than willing to share as I do not wish to give up this life so soon. edited by heavensdark on 5/2/2017

As far as items to shoot for, pick something your character would covet. You could also get back into the University, get married, crack the Correspondence, or become the Governor of Port Carnelian.

To raise Scholar of the Correspondence, you can discuss Shadowy Dealings at the University. Incidentally, this is where you also grind the final levels of Counting the Days. There are places all over London to grind these levels. You can also get "Something Nice for Yourself" from the same grins - useful at Sackmass! Heists in general are fun, if not terribly profitable.

Yes, that's the cost for renown increases all the way to 50.
Iron Legs must be purchased from the Bazaar. You can get bundles of ragged clothing reasonably efficiently from the Implausible Penance card, but that's spending favors when you're needing them for renown increase. It's probably best to just buy those too.

I am entirely unsure of the best items or what is even worth grinding. Well, that depends. Do you want to max out your stats and collect all the best gear? Do you want to have very high quirks? Do you want at least one of every item or quality you can manage? Do you want to raise some particular quality you like to ridiculous levels? Do you want bragging rights?* The best things to grind are the ones which you will enjoy.
*The classic bragging rights grinds are things like an Overgoat, an Ubergoat, Hesperidean Cider, the Heptagoat, reaching Scholar of the Correspondence 21... There's a thread somewhere around here that's just lots of potential goals to set yourself when you're bored, hopefully someone has a link. (Edit: and Skinnyman has one too.) Just making sure you've explored all the stories and locations is a good starting point though. edited by Optimatum on 5/3/2017

Well, obtaining it is worth it. Forgotten Quarter expeditions become easier, and the Overgoat card becomes much more profitable.
Also, goal-wise, you can go for the five-card lodgings (much cheaper at Christmas but no harm in grinding early) which also make several expeditions like Cave of the Nadri and Flash Lays at Veilgarden easier.
Grinding Notability is also interesting, but you have to have good BDR (Bizarre, Respectable, Dreadful) score to progress.
Fate-wise, buying Flute Street will open up some very interesting opportunities in Theological Husbandry and animal breeding. It is also lore-heavy.

Well, that's pretty much it story-wise, until next update to Ambition, Election, or something FBG decides to surprise us with. You can now max out your gear, stats, specialize, overcap, grind for Goat, get your Quirks to the maximum, play around with Fidgeting Writer, read lore...give yourself some improbably ridiculous task and grind to it, for funsies!
