The app is prone to freezing and getting locked in a sync loop too.

Is there anything more to the War of Illusion? It's a very grand name for such a small event.

Is there more to Mahogany Hall than the war of illusion and putting on shows / stealing money?

Sadly the wars of illusion is unfinished.

Mahogany hall also has a certain mystery ambition in it...

Pity, it felt like a place with promise. I didn't know if the seemingly illusionary nature of the war of illusion was an in-joke.

My ambition is nemesis shaped so I think I'll steer clear for now.

I've been having a devil of a time trying to get my achievements to stick. I've had to repeat the end stage folderol for my dreaded gang storylet at least three times today despite syncing after each time to try and get it to stick! After all that work the reward felt like a bit of an anticlimax.

The Foreign Office carousel does not grant dramatic tension at all.

Sorry, my mistake, it's the Wilmot's End carousel that grants dramatic tension quicker than war of the assassins.

But that's the same 11 actions per cp of drama in each case?
How much faster do the luck-based opportunity cards make it?

For me it's less the matter of luck and more that you only need to raise a quality to 5 rather than 7 that makes it quicker to gain dramatice tension. That and you can run two different events (search for a lady, walking Wilmot) at the same time without having to faff around getting kicked back to your lodgings. It may be entirely subjective but it feels quicker and more convenient.

So...I have been scratching my head for the past few days...I usually don't pay much attention to my companions and equipment, mostly because it's been a while since I had to adjust my attire. Few days ago, I was toying around trying to figure out the max BDR combination I have, out of curiosity. That is when I noticed that I had Dark-Caracaped Crustacean. Thing is, I don't recall ever getting it! Does anyone have any idea where I was most likely to get it?

I think you get it by feeding lacre to some animal companions (Talkative Rat or Malevolent Monkey) and getting a success. Have you done that last Sackmas?

I actually took a hiatus right after the Sackmas started, and didn't get back until after the end of Feast...but, seeing that I was there for the first three-four days, that could be an explanation...curious thing, memory!

About how high should I get my Connected: Hell before its conversion to the renown system? It's at 102 right now. Intuition says it should be above 200. I loathe renown grinds and reckon doing it for Hell would increase my Heartless at the cost of Magnanimous, and I wouldn't want that even though Hell is best faction.

Above 400, at least. 271 has been the absolute lowest possible from all of the renown conversions, and hell is almost certainly going to be more harsh.

Only 1311 actions, eh? Lovely. Absolutely lovely. I guess it technically takes less than a month of single-minded grinding. Thanks for the answer!

The problem seems to have gotten better this week, but for the past 2-3 weeks I'd been having a problem with the timer for actions/cards. The timer would say that a new card could be drawn/one action would be given in, say, 30 seconds; 30 seconds later, the page would then say no, it was going to take 6 minutes. Drove me nuts - I could never accurately know when my deck/actions would be refreshed. This happened on the web-brower version of the game.

Hey all, how would one get ready for next sackmess with the goal of keeping a noman alive for lilith?

Apart from grinding cellers of wine, i mean?

Get lots of tears of the bazaar and night whispers. Lots.
A favorable circumstance might help too, to buy pails with said night whispers.

You need seven Storm-Threnodies per Night-Whisper you intend to purchase Pails of Lacre from the Urchins with, presuming that the prices stay the same next year.

Is there any value (other than storylets) to lasting more than one term as Governer of Port Carnelian?

In addition to what others wrote, make sure that your Renown: Urchins is at least 10.

I used it as a source of Antique Mysteries for my reservation at the Royal Beth. I don't know how it compares to the Flit, but I enjoyed the variety.

There is some analysis that suggests it's actually quite profitable, except the zee-voyage imposes some overhead and being away from London means no Opportunity Cards. I'm not sure there's a consensus on this.

That's helpful advice. I had no idea you could use antique mysteries to get a reservation, I thought you had to get a ludicrous amount of honey.

On returning from scientific expeditions is it only the university option that unlocks further stories? The others seem to promise items but I haven't yet seen a use for most of them.
