Steal tales of terror in the flit and convert up for Extraordinary Implications.
Steal Journals of infamy in the flit and side convert for Correspondence plaques. Upconvert those for Aeolian screams.

Now, best for Plaques and Aeolian are the Tomb Favours cash in and upconversion. It does take some time, but as you said, you're just preparing.
For EI you have The Catafalquerie in Nadir, card from Cider sips, Crime or punishment? CC, Hunter's Keep.
If you want to be efficient best is Rev-Rubbery CC middle options and upconvert those ToT; it's better than flint heists, but it is dependent on card.

I was 100% certain that I put my character as a lady, but it says:
"Mallorie Erredy
an artful and watchful individual of mysterious and indistinct gender"
When I look under the "myself" tab. Is this normal? It is not my first rodeo, but it seems strange

Did you put Lady as your title? Like when your roof urchin asks what you preferred to be called (Lord, Lady, Citizen, etc)? That could be it, as it's separate from the initial gender description thing I think. Alternatively could be a bug worth sending FBG an email about.
