You can catch all of them, and repeat it as many times as you'd like.

Take on a Rubbery Pupil or Take on an Elegant Lady fate options in Mahogany hall the same with taking the devil pupil and Lyme is worth 5 fate points each? Is it at least interesting?

They're basically the same, though rubbery does give a somewhat rare reward.

Are journals somehow linked to Sunless Sea? Because I was at the Avid Horizon, and I saw someone echoing journal snippets that were not from Seeking. Or is there a fate-locked story that takes you NORTH?

The Scorched Sailor, up for most social actions and RP. Not as scary as he looks.

Is giant plant profitable? Any ideas about EpA in the long run?

The plan tab canbe used to mark choices you want to make later.
The plant run would be profitable if you always won, but there's too much luck involved.

I'm not sure about EpA, but you definitely pump your materials into growing it for a long time. On the other hand, winning the Tournament of Lilies can grant one a unique item for mantlepiece adornment.

... and winning the tournament and not cashing in your prize will stop other people from inviting you to battles. edited by Skinnyman on 3/11/2017

Can moods stack, or do they cancel each other out?
(I have been hoarding "A dusty bookshop" and now have drawn "A little omen" and I'm curious about the mechanics of trying to use both if it ever came up)

A mood is a hat item that gives +30 to the stat and thus don't stack - you can only have one equipped at any given moment.

Is "Uncovering Secrets Framed in Gold" worth its cost? Is there a significant mechanical reward or only lore?

SFiG is a story that people who've played have strong, but divided opinions on. It's also notable in that discussions of certain aspects are discouraged in public spaces.
Coincidentally, it's also one of the rare Fated stories that you cannot reset.
-- I'm sorry, but due to policy clarifications, I will no longer be giving detailed mechanics advice on the forums.

You basically choose if you get mechanical or lore rewards.
I highly recommend it, but be prepared for a harrowing experience.

A death-related question. Are there any storylets that let you travel to the surface? Apart from some destinies. I know you can in SS, but what about FL?
