I returned it - I want an arm that works and doesn't smash my china.

I'm at the decision, but I'd like to know the mechanical outcome.

I took the arm, I have a quality, a very minor dangerous increase, and a searing enigma

Not sure if this is okay considering spoilers and whatnot, but...okay.
Hotshot would have taken the arm, had the affair been voluntary. Oh yes, it would have been interesting, and if it had worked...! But the thing is, the other individual in the affair did not have it removed willingly. And their own replacement was...well, not looking in the best of shape. Nor were the others, frankly. He could not, in good conscious, betray the other person. But he has the notes. Oh, he has the notes. And maybe he can improve where the creator of the notes failed.
I gave the arm back, and I got ... nothing? Like one Warm Amber?

I believe that would have been a Nodule of Pulsating Amber, equal in value to a Searing Enigma.

Oops, looks like it was. I guess I ought to read instead of just looking at the pretty pictures....

In essence that was my entire thought process, We could not keep the arm because it was taken unwillingly. That and the clay scientist was really really bad at the whole process of running an operation like that.

I returned it. Unlike the Persona Engine, wherein allowing your companion to exact revenge would lead to the destruction of a potentially sentient innocent, the choice here was clear.

it appears that the majority returned it how intresting.

i choose to embrace simply because of how useful it will be once im used to its restraints.
and i think my old arm will be useful for the clay man as well once he has gotten over his trauma.

Oh, wow. A "bump" post. We don't see many of those here. Not quite the style, you know? By all means, if you have something additional to add, add it, but generally we let threads ebb and flow naturally, as it were.

I'm honestly really torn on this choice. I wonder what the effects will be of "clay dust" potentially getting into my veins. I was less reluctant to part with my soul (knowing full well that I could get it back, if I desired) than I am to part with my actual arm. Anyone have any opinions or insight?

I kept it. This is such a rare opportunity. But I'm really sorry for this poor fellow...

considering how recent the story was it seemed like a waste to have this be forgotten about under all the new threads that popped up since i made it.
dont worry i wont be making a habit of this.

The more I think about it, The more I realize...if I had full autonomy? I probably would have kept the arm, but took the clay man out to Polythreme to get it fixed. Everyone wins.

i wonder if that would be possible if polythreme even has surgeons that could deal with something of that nature considering how little actual ruling the king with a thousand hearts seems to do if any (its not like they actual construct clay men after all) personally i doubt it.

Does the story leave you with any sort of quality besides your decision concerning the arm?

The arm is an actual item in your inventory. Non-equipable, non-interactable, Curiosity category.
