Hi, not sure if this is the right place but.....I'm a new player, I like the game but I'm lost on how to tell which storylets to follow and why some disappear after completed and which don't. I really have no idea what I should be doing. I've read through the help files but they're too basic for my confusion.....

If you don't mind spoilers you can always check the wiki (http://fallenlondon.wikia.com/wiki/Echo_Bazaar_Wiki). As for which you should follow, you should generally do the Making Your Name stories to progress in the game. Some of their options do disappear after being completed though, as you've noticed, though few are actually useful compared to later game options (for the purpose of getting money or character attributes).

I will check out that Wiki again. How do I know which are the Making Your Name stories? Sorry to be so ignorant. This game seems easy and difficult and the same time, lol

Is Failbetter still pursuing a publisher for a Fallen London comic?
I did a quick Google search, but only found this page https://www.failbettergames.com/comic/ and old articles referring to it.

Has anyone switched "closest to" involving one of the Renown factions? Not automatically due to the Nadir but by one of the Faction card storylet?
1) does it cost favours to leave a faction? 2) does joining one cost favours as well as the usual monetary goods? 3) any Renown Unlocks in either case?

I have a question about wedding mechanics.
Teaspoon just wed, and my main, cathyr19355 was invited! So I got this quality, 1 x Invitation to a Wedding, which shows up only as a Scrapbook quality on my profile. Does it do anything else? I was curious. I was hoping that it would be a minor item under "Curiosities" (creamy vellum envelope, blood red seal in the finest wax with the couple's entwined initials as a motif, that sort of thing), but that does not seem to be the case.
EDIT: Never mind! I found my answer. There's a storylet in Spite I need to do to "attend" the wedding. Off I go to do so! edited by cathyr19355 on 2/10/2017

What does Starstone Demark do? On the wiki it does say that it has no recorded uses.

To the best of my knowledge, a Starstone Demark has no other use apart from its echo value.

Leaving a faction will take all your favours away(though the Nadir probably doesn't do it, as it didn't before).
I am pretty sure it just costs the usual monetary goods.
There is nothing related to "closest to" and renown as far as I know.

Sorry for popping in again, but besides the options Disporting with the servantry, are there any good Fascinating cash in? I always try and use the 0-25 Air option and I wouldn't mind something extra.
Cheers!

The items for joining a faction are quite difficult to collect, I should add.

If you mean good ways to cash in fascinating, I don't think there are any. If you haven't been banished from the court and want a memento of passion for collector's value, you can save a bunch of actions by getting the appropriate fascinating now. That's what I'm currently doing with it.

A Lover's Tryst is the best, at 5 echoes. Requires 0-25 Airs. Negotiating a kiss from sinning jenny is the best for 26-50 though is only so-so (~2E). No option on 51-75 is profitable (aside from the one-time captivating princess), and A Face from the Past -> An Intriguing Resemblance is the best for the remaining airs (2.5E). (someone correct me if I'm wrong on any of these)
Probably not worth it to cycle airs unless you'd be cycling them anyway. I'm grinding up Widow connection at the same time so I do that. edited by Kaijyuu on 2/10/2017

Happy Feast Season, everyone!
I have a question about weddings; my spouse and I just got married, and we're still technically at the wedding, at the stage where we're spending Organizing on guests. I've sent a few invitations out to friends, but some have yet to respond, and I feel as though I'm wasting time still at the wedding when there's no one left I want to invite. If I end the wedding, will the friends I've sent invites to still be able to accept them?

There is also a way to enter a State of Confusion from the Mirror-Marches. I believe it takes the form of a window, through which you can see a well-appointed bedroom.

FF gembrandt has cold-blooded advantage (3.6 echoes) and if you buy her concoctions, cruel to be kind is effectively best on the card, though if you don't it's kind of mediocre. (10 of her wounds tonics, which go for 1 echo each)
I'm of the opinion that it's worth shuffling airs for 51-75, unless you're really attached to your current grind. 3/4ths of the time it unlocks an action with an epa of ~2.5, and 2/4ths it hits or passes 3.6. If your standard grind is 2 epa (it's not) you get an average value of 1.27 echoes as a result of shuffling, and given that unfinished business is at/above 1 epa, it's worth shuffling then. It's probably not worth shuffling from 76-100 (0.9 average gain, but you might need to shuffle again because you hit 51-75). Also, if you're really in a rush to shuffle airs for some other use, these cards can be used as a 0-action airs shuffle instead by taking an option and perhaps-not-ing out. edited by Grenem on 2/10/2017
