Grinding Hell, Revolutionaries and the Great Game Messages in this topic - RSS

Hello there, fellow Londoners. I am a bit stuck. Since I find favor-collecting incredibly tedious, I thought to increase some of my connections as high as they get before any sudden conversions occur. Society and the Bohemians can be done at the Shuttered Palace, while increasing the Duchess at the same time. However, I see no such avenue for increasing Hell, Revolutionaries and the Great Game.
Now, Jolanda is soft-hearted and a Shepherd of Souls, so maybe this is holding me back a bit. For the Great Game, I have the bat companion and sometimes I side with the spies on the Great Game/Chruch conflict card. For the devils, I only have their faction card. As for the Revolutionaries, I am stuck at 20. How do you even raise this connection? Am I missing some storylets or are they simply very tough to grind?
Thank you in advance!

For hell you can exchanging casing in the flit, for revs you can do public lectures in the forgotten quarter, for GG...you just kinda cry and draw cards.

Thanks! I was not aware of the public lectures and I had forgotten the Casing option - which is good, because Shadowy is my lowest stat.

There's also a great opportunity for connected:hell mixed with one of the best echo grinds in the game if you have A Trade in Souls

I do, but I am a Shepherd of Sould so I doubt Hell likes me very much!

True! The Soul Shepherd card is very satisfying... and grinds up a lot of connections.
I notice that the Public Lecture also increases society, bohemians and Watchful. Where was it my whole life?

Posted this many times, but I only bookmarked the redding page, sorry, so here's a nice link with connection grinds (all of them). In the same thread you find my strategy for Shepherd echo grinds. Basically is about chaining multiple grinds and cards which, in the end, have a great EPA!
The result is that after less than 10 months (and only 5 or 6 with sub) I got my ubergoat w/o doing echo grinds! I only did a few heists after the new Renown items to be able to increase my level.

My level is 284 and started grinding it (only cards) after unlocking Wilmot's End Route and no Numix grinds. Estelle I know has very high (insane?) connections with all factions as well! Big Grin

EDIT: Aha, found it! That post was one of the inspiration for my big achievement list and the push to start checking for connection grinds. Unfortunately, I already locked many of them at that time! Big Grin

ESs items and quality requirements sheet. Please check if there are errors or if something is missing
Achievement list if you're feeling bored!
I am accepting Plant battles, Neath's Mysteries card, Starveling Cats and boxed cats.
No suppers, no second chances gain and no need to cure my menaces!

Although that can be an advantage; if you grind out the 1000 souls and 100 contracts needed to do the best option on the related opportunity card, it will clear all your suspicion (along with scandal, nightmares, and wounds) that you accumulate while doing public lectures. This also drastically raises your church connection (which is quite hard to grind) so that you can built that up, or trade it for connected The great game or Hell when those conflict cards pop up. The option on that card also grants substantial levels in Society and the Constables.

I found it very easy to keep menaces low so I haven't used the Shepherd of Souls card for a while, but I might just do that to boost my connections. I had also forgotten about the Polite Invitation opportunity. I am doing that as well from now on!

Keep in mind that the public lectures for raising Connected revolutionaries will rapidly raise you suspicion. As for the card, the complete option will raise your Church, Constable, and Society Connections by 10 levels each.

It costs fate and is only semi-reliable due to a 50-50 chance, but you can grind Connected: The Great Game using Sinning Jenny's Finishing School by using the Foreign Office Agent as your final exam.

Do you remember how many CP this gives?

So much to grind at the Finishing School! Urchin favors, Tomb-Colonist Favors, Great Game... at 50-50 chance I play often (after all it will refresh your deck) but it is quite the gamble.

Just for completeness, I have Connected:Great Game 294 at the moment.

It's a 50/50 chance for 25 CP (for > 12 actions). So while it's semi-reliable it's not very efficient.

It's possible people have forgotten that there is an actual devil in the actual Lord Mayor's office. A devil who is promising to look after people's souls. What is wrong with everybody?

Not a good grind, but if you are trying to get amanita sherry for sending gifts, converting 500 souls to 100 sherry increases your connected hell

That's worse than A furtive duo in Ladybones Road, but at least it's not Air dependent.
