Wanting Logic from the Duchess

Why does Call in favours at the Shuttered Palace --> Curry favour with the Duchess, change your Connected: Society rather than change your Connected: The Duchess? There is no logic in that...
I guess this just comes because I'm irritated that I have Connected the Duchess now at 70 with no use for it.
Any suggestions?

To "curry favour" with someone is to gain favour with them. So of course currying her favour will boost her favour.
There's no cash in for Duchess, unfortunately. If you happen to go on heists you can "spend" it on getting rid of bothersome cats, though.
