Hello, delicious friends!
I just wanted to express how thankful I was to have become a part of this community. It's not like any community I've seen so far, here people are actually going out of their way to be nice and helpful and it's a breath of fresh air, a rare island in the ocean of negativity that is the Internet.
I have come across the Fallen London app (yes, I'm one of those) sometime in September and while I was intrigued enough to keep the app and open it couple times a day to make some progress and read a few snippets of a story, the true obsession with the game came with the discovery of the browser version and this forum.
I have been very shy about social interaction at first, because I was very new to everything and I was sure I wouldn't understand what other people were talking about. I had issues with the abbreviations (sometimes still do), I had no idea what some events were, I haven't even figured you could open up more places on the map! But the forum seemed to have the answer to everything and when I had questions the forum wasn't helping me with anymore (in the first five threads anyway :P) I had to set up a profile and I realised I liked being in touch with other people playing the game with me.
And then I stumbled upon an IRC thread. And was never heard from again.
No, but really, I'd recommend IRC to anyone with some free time on their hands. It's usually the same group of people being active there (me being one of them), but since we're from all over the world, each of us is online at different times, plus sometimes there are people who aren't frequent visitors, but most importantly, it's always fun. They've been most helpful with all kinds of questions I may have had (and trust me, I can be pretty dense sometimes) and I can safely say that they've made me cry with joy and happiness more times then I had left in tears (that happened only once and was entirely my fault - I get emotional very easily).
Some of you (and not necessarily just IRC people) have gone out of your way to help me, whether materially or by giving me a good advice or by simply trying to cheer me up when things got tough, so I've decided to give something back. Y'all deserve a shoutout and lots of love, so here is my gift for you. Hopefully it'll make you happy.
I was very limited in the number of companions, so if you didn't make the cut, you can always send one my way and be on the list next year! *wink wink, nudge nudge*
Anyway, since this is shaping up to be a much longer post than I wanted it to be, I'd like to surmise:
What I've accomplished this year (and by that I mean in the three last months):
- Found this game!
- Became a PoSI
- Got SotC up to 10
- Got both suits from the Photographer storyline
- Visited the Temple Club
- Bought my first EF (Totally worth it!)
I'm afraid that would be all.
What I'm hoping to achieve in the next year:
- Get a 5 card lodgings and a Remote address (I'm pretty sure I will, but since it hasn't happened yet, I can't call it an accomplishment.)
- Become a Glassman (or a Tier 3 Profession in general)
- Become a Legendary Charisma
- Grow my Plant enough to be able to complete in tournaments
- Embark on a Nadir expedition
- Get a ship and zail
- Make some progress with the renown factions and perhaps get an item or two out of it.
- Generally grow my collection of things obtainable without worrying too much about making the collection complete (It's the second part that is hardest for me.)
- Start making in-game choice less based on the value and more focused on the character. (It truly is more fun to play that way)
What are my wishes for the game:
- FIX THE D__N APP!!!! Please.
- I would love to see some of the stories with "Impossible!" on them get progressed, but I think you have your hands full with everything else, so I understand if that takes a long time.
It is almost New Year's for me, so best wishes to you all, may we make the next year count

Ragish is accepting everything, including Loitering and Photographer. Available for interviews about Heart's Desire and a Crooked-cross for Salons.
Pienkava is freshly out of prison and will need charity to survive in the harsh streets of London. Have pity, she is only fifteen.

Hello!
Another year over, and so I've decided it would be a fun thing to look at my list of things I planned to have achieved this time last year, by now.

Well, as predicted, I got the Spire Emporium!

- Grow my Plant enough to be able to complete in tournaments Ouch. This one hurts, because as soon as I reached the level needed for a tournament (and lost a couple times), I accidentally threw my Plant away. I only recently decided to regrow it and now I'm MUCH more careful with it.
- Embark on a Nadir expedition I have done that! Or have I? Done...what...?
- Get a ship and zail I did =] Zailing is fun and I am an experienced zailor now!
- Make some progress with the renown factions and perhaps get an item or two out of it. oh hell yea! I did way better than I thought! I got Hell, revolutionaries and Bohemians at 50 and from the old ones, I managed to reach R:40 with Criminals and Docks!
- Generally grow my collection of things obtainable without worrying too much about making the collection complete (It's the second part that is hardest for me.) Well, I have been growing my collection, sure, but if anything, I am even more anxious about gaining as many unique ones as I can than last year 
- Start making in-game choice less based on the value and more focused on the character. (It truly is more fun to play that way) Well. Partial success? I am at the point in the game where I only play to gain resources anymore (a.k.a grind), but I try to play the Exceptional Stories as true to my character as I can be. Except for the final choices :x Shame! *ding ding*
What are my wishes for the game:

Well the app is still the same and those features we lost because of it aren't back, but BIG KUDOS on the reworks part!!! That was amazing! You did a lot of work and I am very grateful for it!
Okay, what else have I managed this year!
- Maxed all my stats
- Reached Notability as high as 14!
- Celebrated one year as an Exceptional Friend
- That also means I got to participate in all the Seasonal Festivals and Events there are!
- Opened a Salon! (And an orphanage on my alt!)
- I became a Patron and gave out lessons! That was a great feeling!
- I believe I've finished all the Making your name content by successfully running a term as a Governor
- I've seen myself at the "Who else is here" board!! That was exciting!
As for my goals for 2018:
- Getting that sweet Notability 15
- Gain at least one 3200 Scrap item
- Get all the tigers! (I already have one, they need a friend!)
- Get a Goat
- Finish the Renown grinds with all factions at at least 40 (except maybe Church. That one's slow.)
- Start with the process of becoming a Paramount Presence
I think that's it. I want to thank all my friends for making this year a little nicer May this year be the best one yet!
PS: Thanks spacemarine for all the resolved tickets! (I've sent quite a few this year and I believe all of them have been dealt with by you, so I hope you got enough rats to make up for that.)
PPS: Treat your spell-checkers kindly, FBG, I think you've overworked them by the end of this year!

Congratulations on all you have achieved! I hope you achieve all your goals for this year! You seem a much more effective player than I. Also going for a high scrap item, but progress is slow.
