I was really tickled when I got the storylet you get for having both the Working Rat and the Ratskin Suit in your inventory. I think Fallen London would benefit from having more of this sort of thing. I can't recall a single other instance where I got a storylet for having two items/companions like that.

So much of the stuff in my inventory is sort of useless. I have a whole stack of companions that just sit there - the companion cards are nice, but only a handful companions even have them. I think it'd be somewhat amusing to see, perhaps, a card with the araby fighting weasel trying to chomp your rats, or the urchin companions interacting somehow, or especially - the rattus faber bandit chief and the disgraced bandit chief.

I'd really like to see something for the seasonal companions, since those in particular always seem to end up being fairly useless trophies.

Ditto with the high-level trophy items... I'd like to see them do *something*, if only just as a one-time card in your deck that adds a bit of flavor and interest to getting those rarer items.

There are a few other companions and items that interact.
From the top of my mind, you get a pretty nasty conflict card when you have both a Scuttering Squad and the Midnight Matriarch. Also, having both a Grubby Kitten and a Starveling Cat opens an option on the Grubby Kitten's Opportuniy Card to have them interact.

I agree with you completely, though, there should be more storylets that encourage you to be in possession of items you normally wouldn't bother having.

I think there is an urchin one that interacts with a malevolent monkey. (I would appreciate some nice interaction cards too, maybe a tiger could chat with a cat or something)

You could always just add one or two rare companion cards like this in each location, this way alot of companions will get interactions through cards but your deck won't be destroyed by them.

There's a card for the Devious Henchman and Alluring Accomplice as well.

In the case of items opening new options in opportunity cards, I think it would be prudent that some of them are incorporated into existing cards so that decks do not become too flooded. I do want to see more interactions based on the companions and items I have accumulated over the years; even more so festively acquired or upgraded ones.

I love seeing new options on cards based on companions or items, and interactions in the card deck. Seeing more would make me embarrassingly gleeful, especially if they involved any of the rat companions (I've been hoping for the Working Rat/Ratskin Suit card for so long! Drat the RNG to heck Stick Out Tongue).

Kalix do you have Sympathetic about Ratly concerns? According to the wiki that locks you out of getting the card.

  • Oh, crud, I do :-( rubbish! I shall just have to hope for more ratty interactions. I'd love to be able to send my Scuttering Squad off on errands, instead of pretending I'm putting them in a box when I get the card that lets you send gifts...

I really hate the conflict card between the Scuttering Squad and the Midnight Matriarch. It is unique among all non-discardable cards for being triggered by qualities that are not supposed to be transient (Eyeless Skulls are DEFINITELY not meant to be kept, Favours are meant to be spent, if only on Renown, etc.) But this particular card inflicts calamitous damage repeatedly for no apparent mechanical reason.

Other companions who might be at each other’s throats seem fine with each other, so it doesn’t make narrative sense either.

I feel this card would be far better as a one-off, getting locked by a quality gained once you make the decision to prohibit the consumption of sentient beings (assuming you have any decency). Alternatively, it could be made discardable like the conflict card between the Grubby Urchin and the Malevolent Monkey, or given a more tenable option like the card triggered by having said Monkey at all.

I don't know -- having a clowder of cats and once having had the misfortune of a single rat in the house, it made perfect sense to me!

Yeah, I'd love it if the right collection of items, or the right obscure/trophy items gave an upgrade or side-grade to existing cards. It'd make collecting those items really useful for people seeking to optimize their deck.
