Inviting new players to Fallen London

Hello everyone
I would like to ask for assistance with a problem I have been unable to solve on my own so far. If someone could help me or guide me into the right direction that would be highly appreciated.
I've been trying to invite a friend to Fallen London through the game itself for a while now, yet there seems to be no option that is working for me. Could someone please direct me to an option that I can use for that purpose?
My research on the forum and wiki led me to try different options. I tried fulfilling conditions for certain cards and storylets to unlock options that are supposed to be still in the game (I am aware that some are flagged as "retired" and skipped those), yet none worked.
At this point I do not even ask for a stylish option anymore, as I have been trying for several days now, waiting for cards to become available and trying to get access to alleged options/storylets.
I would also appreciate a hint as to how other players go about finding similar information, so I can consult different sources in the future when I try to understand aspects of the game.

I'm afraid they were all retired. They caused a conflict with the app. They'll likely come back, but until then there's nothing to be done.
