Hullo, delicious friends!

After six months of grueling dreams, I've finally seen through the eye of the storm! Now I'm kind of anxious - I've heard certain actions raise the quality, while others lower it. I'm wondering whether I could (by way of recklesness) lose Stormy-Eyed completely, or does it not go below 1 after you've obtained it?

I'd rather hold onto it, but I'm not really keen on keeping track and checking whether an action raises or lowers it every time I get an opportunity to benefit from it. I suspect I'll have to, but it would be nice to hear what other, longer-standing residents of the Fifth City know.

You have to lose it in the event that happens once it gets too high (an optional event and I'm staying vague) but I don't think anything else lowers it.

Edit: oops!

You'll usually have two Stormy-Eyed storylets on dream cards now, one will raise the quality, while the other will slightly lower it. As long as you don't always play the latter ones, there's no real danger of losing it completely.

If you want to risk a peek, the extremely helpful wiki has the increasing and decreasing storylets all listed.

Don't forget that it raises pretty hard, but Storm dreams raise faster so you'll need to visit Mutton Island and do the carousel a few times.
It'll be a waste if you end up unlocking Stormy Eyed again and have 25+ storm dreams. So grab your boat as the texts on Mutton are really neat! Remember that when you unlock the story click it when you're ready to visit the Mind as there's no return button!

Oh, and congratulations!

As has been mentioned, storm dreams generally have two Stormy-Eyed options. One that raises it and one that lowers it. You'll learn to spot which one does which pretty easily. The raising and lowering isn't by a particularly large amount though. There is an optional event you can do when it gets high enough that will cause you to lose it all, but the level you need is so high that you're unlikely to see it without spending a lot of time on Mutton Island raising Stormy-Eyed to intentionally trigger this event.

So basically, as long as you balance your increases and decreases on the dream cards (or just try to build it up without Mutton Island) you don't have to worry about losing it.

I'm pretty sure raising Stormy-Eyed high enough for the optional event is only possible through Mutton Island, as the other options cap.

Phew. I was afraid I'd have to consult the wiki every step of the way. Thank you all, you've put my mind at ease (east?).

What optional event are you talking about? I just rechecked all wiki pages for the 3rd-4th time, but didn't find anything related to it.
I guess it's not the one that unlocks Stormy-Eyed, is it?

I suspect it's access to the Mind of a Long-Dead God.

Oh, you were talking about The Mind of a Long-Dead God. I wasn't seeing it as an optional even as that's where these qualities get you.
Thought there's something else. Cheers!
