I have questions. Where can I ask them? In fact, I'm already asking them here (aren't I?) - and you should too!

Ms. Lilian Leith. A lady of proper standing, which seems like an increasingly ludicrous thing to give a rat's ___ about. Known (to some) for her Light Fingers.

Affair of the Box is the gold standard (note that in addition to getting the candles, you also need to be Conscience of the Empire and intercept the messages during the carousel for the best profit) because as long as you are in London, you can always throw spare actions at it, and, as The Master says, you don't have to worry about accidentally locking yourself out.

There are other grinds that are more profitable than the Affair of the Box, but they involve flipping cards, luck-based actions, or leaving London. Grinding Collections of Curiosities through Dramatic Tension to trade to Tomb Colonists, for instance, is more profitable, but requires two card flips per cash-in: One to get a favour, and another to use it. Heists at the Offices of Baseborn and Fowlingpiece are also quite profitable, but there is always the slim chance you'll have a run of bad luck and fail, wasting many actions. Port Carnelian is considered a profitable grind, but it requires you to leave London and stay for an extended period of time to make up for the actions spent on the Zee trip (and a bushel of Sudden Insights definitely helps).

I recommend varying your grind in the interests of staving off boredom in any case, as Hepta/Cider takes a very long time.

The thing I most enjoyed after POSI was going to sea. I adore both the sailing itself and the various islands. It's worth being kicked out of the University to gain access to the Sea of Voices and the various places it offers, and also the Iron Republic, weird as it is. I've recently opened up the Nadir, and again, there is much to explore, especially since time down there is always limited.
If Rubberies are your thing, then Flute Street is indeed the place to head for. Again, you need to have completed the University before you can gain access (= be unwelcome). And then there is always the breeding of beasts in the Labyrinth. Tigers, incidentally, also feature prominently during the posting as governor.

So, I've been away for a while, and I noticed that here has been an effort to restrict many storylets not by stat progression, but rather by various qualities that change based on your story progression, so that you don't miss out on generic but nevertheless precious storylets and opportunities by grinding your stats carelessly (or even actual complete stories).

Has this effort been "completed"? I know that some things still have a max stat check (like various faction cards that trade stats for favors, which change "form" depending on your stats), but I'm not particularly bothered by those.

It was finished a while ago, there probably won't be any new changes other than if new content comes out and requires something related to this.

When can I expect Lacre to start falling?
No one knows, but if I should hazard a guess, I'd say tomorrow. In recent years it used to snow four times in December, and if they start tomorrow it would work out perfectly for everyone.

Hey guys, I have probably a stupid question about FL Christmas. What Noman is used for and why do I want to keep it alive as long as possible? I’ve seen guides explaining HOW to do it, but not why would I want to do it.

Another question: I want to upgrade both Beth room and bazaar premises to 5 star cribs, is it doable if I have SotC 10, monocle and Tears of the bazaar?

Noman has a story that grants you an Elemental Secret. From the Feast of the Exceptional Rose (which comes in February) you can get a regular Noman tattoo, but if you already have two tattoos you can get a special quality just for bragging rights and some bits of text.

EDIT: Upgrading both it's doable if nothing changed from last year. Follow the instructions here and you should be oki.
